Just been to Bournemouth Station just looked at the railway clock with to faces on the London side and I see it says Bournemouth Railtrack 2000 AD, I bet there,s some in Network Rail wish they could get the ladder out and prize off them words from the past. Bad for the image them Railtrack lot.

Anyone else seen any things like this in full view then?

At Macclesfield station on the bicycle racks there is still signs saying "First North Western, Macclesfield Council, Railtrack and Virgin Trains" all apart from VT no longer exist and the VT logo is pre-Voyager and Pendo style.

At London Luton baggage reclaim, there are signs to buses for the station Luton Airport Parkway, with the logos for FCC and Midland Mainline beside it!

As you go through the ticket barriers at Liverpool Street Underground, there's an assistance box (although I've never seen a member of staff in it), and on the side there's a label about bicycles that says they're allowed on the East London line.

In Stonehaven there is an improvement sign showing Railtrack.

In Dundee when coming off the new Seabraes footbridge towards Tesco, there's a shed with a painted on Railtrack.

Today, in Penzance I saw a sign indicating the direction to British Rail. The sign didn't seem that old though. It's Penzance council though, they're doing some renovations to their buildings. The barriers they've got up list their achievements. One is about facilities for the Night Riveira

A station that gets more mentions on here than passengers per year Teesside Airport station or is it Tees-side Airport station. That is a strange one.

I am sure there are signs at some stations saying Red Star Parcels and at Cardiff Central there is a sign saying Great Western Railway which I think means the Great Western.

I never understand why Derby station has Derby Midland Station branding on the outside given that it was renamed Derby before the current building was built. Another one is Deansgate which still has the Knott Mill Station branding on.

I noticed this morning that there are are still some "British Rail No Parking" signs near the Short Stay parking at Hull. It even looks like they've recently been cleaned (though I think they were doing some work in that area)!

If I recall correctly the "Knott Mill" over the main entrance is actually carved into the stonework above the doorway and so would probably cause quite a few problems if they tried to remove it.

There is still set into the bridge parapet wall of Shaw Heath roundabout in Stockport, the legend 'Edgeley Station' with a direction arrow. This was perhaps installed during electrification work in the late 50s when the former tunnels were opened out and replaced by bridges on which the roundabout was constructed. 'Stockport Edgeley' was renamed 'Stockport' on 19th March 1967 after the closure of the towns other station 'Tiviot Dale' during January 1967.

There's a sticker on a traffic light control cabinet near Brighton station warning people of the fine for improper use of the emergency stop cord and also warning against leaning out the window.

Obviously taken from one of the CIGs that used to be regular down there.

Not so long ago some renovations at (I think) Coventry revealed posters for Golden Rail Holidays!

This one was at Keighley in 1984. I wonder if it's still there?

Brings back memories of Stranraer in Sealink days - one place where the back to front arrow was correct. (Starboard side of funnels on Sealink ferries)

Good point! It appears that Railtrack phone number is well out of date.

The number on the bridge plate varies between bridges and of course regions. It phones the incident controller for that areas control room or sometimes the relevant signal box. It does not call network rails call centre.

On the train's I often hear Carlisle Citadel which is a name that is long gone, I think there are signs saying that as well.

Up until the rebuild, there were several light fittings at Leeds with "Leeds City" branding... Funnily enough, they were actually in the part of the station that was originally Leeds Wellington until it was merged into City station in the 1950s/60s.

Ah right, cheers for that!
