Claverdon (on the route out of Stratford upon Avon) is 96.75 miles (96 miles 60 chains) from London Marylebone via High Wycombe. Fastest through/direct journey time to London Marylebone is 2 hrs 6 mins.

Does that count?

I think they might have been talking about straight line distance rather than rail distance.

Claverdon = 85 miles
Poole = 97 miles
Templecombe = 105 miles

Measured from Trafalgar Square, for no reason other than that's where Google seems to put the dot for "London" on the map.

I think mileages from London were tradionally measured in the past over the centuries from Charing Cross. Not the station but the Cross nearby. So Trafalgar square is possibly the same thing if you don't go to too much detail.
