Stretching the thread just a bit, back in the day day, London Transport Route 37 (Peckham - Hounslow) served Herne Hill, near the Norwoods, West Norwood, Norwood Garage etc and Hounslow fairly near to Norwood Green

Until last year, Centrebus North served two different places called Syston - one in Lincolnshire, and one in Leicestershire - on two different service 27’s!

They still do serve both, but the Leicestershire one had its service re-numbered to LC5 during 2025.

First Glasgow 60/60A serves The Forge Market, and The (Glasgow) Fort Retail Park, which are a few miles apart in the east end of the city.

First also serve Balornock and Barlanark, which are a few miles apart as well.

See also - Milton (housing scheme in north Glasgow) and Milton (small village near Dumbarton), and Braehead & Barrhead.
I’ll grant you the penultimate one - but apart from starting with the same first letter, they’re hardly in any danger of being construed as being the same. Forge / Fort, Balornock / Barlanark, Braehead / Barrhead would only confuse the inattentive.

I thought you might have said Arriva North East who serve Aislaby (near Whitby X93/4) and Aislaby (near Pickering M3/M7); back in the day, both were served all year round by United.

Before 1986, United also served two Bromptons (one near Pickering and one near Northallerton) plus Brompton on Swale near Richmond, and two Skeltons and two Seamers.
Thats reminded me of Middleton (near Pickering, 28 & M3) and Middleton-On-The-Wolds (near Market Weighton, X45 & 142) both served by East Yorkshire Buses.

Two London examples:

Stagecoach London serve both Bromley by Bow and Bromley in South East London.

Transport UK serve both Hayes in West London and the one in South East London.

Back in the day, West Yorkshire served Linton (Grassington) and Linton (Wetherby)
More recently, both were served by Transdev (Keighley & Harrogate) although the OP excludes grouped companies.
.....and, come to think of it, Keighley Bus served both Lintons when it extended the 760 through to Wetherby.

Kinchbus's Skylink Derby service runs through Alvaston, a suburb of Derby, and also passes close to a village called Elvaston, which is situated only a few miles from the former.

In the good old days, Eastern Counties had loads of these, more than I can be bothered to type out.

For instance-

Bacton, Norfolk / Bacton, Suffolk
Billingford near Diss / Billingford near East Dereham
Denham near Bury St. Edmunds / Denham near Diss
Eye near Diss / Eye near Peterborough

The current Stagecoach Yorkshire 86 serves Hutcliffe Wood Road, and Archer Road, then passes the bottom of Woodseats Road on its route through southern Sheffield, all around half a mile from the suburb of Woodseats, (where Torville and Dean's skates were made for their Winter Olympic bolero)...

... AND then roughly an hour later it passes though Wood Seats in the north of the city on its way to Chapletown

Alveston and Olveston in South Gloucestershire are connected by Eurocoaches service Y2C.

I recollect - although I may be mistaken - that, in the past, both were in the same operating company "Arriva The Shires & Kent".

Afraid you're mistaken. Shires and Essex, and Kent and Sussex (later and Surrey, which it still is now despite not leaving Kent)

All pretty sizeable places as well… the Makerfield one more well-known as of late, of course.

I have a feeling Ashton upon Mersey appeared on Princess Rd depot blinds in the Stagecoach/GM buses days. Not sure if services from the same depot operated at the same time to both there and Ashton under Lyne, normally appearing simply as Ashton ?

Across the Pennines, the other that springs to mind was the 733 West Yorkshire Road Car Leeds – Ilkley along the A65 which passed through Burley (Leeds) and Burley in Wharfedale, near each end of the route, respectively. The latter is known locally as simply Burley, so it was possible on one trip to hear people asking for fares to 2 different Burleys.

This one might be a stretch, but on Arriva's service 127 between Loughborough and Shepshed, at least three of the stops on its route in each direction are simply named "Cemetery" (in Rothley, Quorn and Loughborough) on onboard announcements. (It also passes a fourth cemetery on a one-way loop around Shepshed, although I think the stop outside that cemetery has a different name.)

West Coast Motors / Scottish Citylink on service 926 serve Tarbet on Loch Lomond, as well as Tarbert on Loch Fyne, though a good two hours away from eachother.

Additionally, WCM has a Scottish Citylink run on the 915 from Glasgow to Skye, terminating at Uig with ferry connections to Tarbert on Harris, though the nextbound ferry is for Uist depending on the date.

Is that service in and around Tarbert by any chance?
It meets up with the Tarbert ferry on the other side of the water, though connections are poor (with the final journey missing the last boat, and the first journey having a 90 minute wait)

There is a Green Street Green near Orpington (Kent or SE London depending on which boundaries you recognised) which was traditionally on both the London Transport 'red bus' network and on many 'country bus' routes on the Bromley / Orpington - Sevenoaks corridor.

There is also a Green Street Green a few miles south east of Dartford, traditionally on the country bus route 423 Swanley - Dartford - Longfield. (1st Bus Stop appear still to run a school day only route 423 that serves part of the route.)

I don't think there was ever a route that connected the two, although with the rapid service changes that Kentish Bus had a phase of in the mid - late 80s, I wouldn't like to be certain about that.

Transport UK serve both Hayes in West London and the one in South East London.

A one time colleague had previously lived in Hayes (West London / Middlesex). He once told me about a time a friend or relative was coming to visit, and some time after they were supposed to have arrived, phoned from a call box having been unable to find his house following the directions he'd been given to get there from the station. Visitor had gone to Hayes (SE London / Kent) station...

There's also a Grove Park near Chiswick, as well as the one in SE London. Not sure if any current operator serves both.

Stagecoach Yorkshire serve Hemsworth (Sheffield) and Hemsworth (between Pontefract and Barnsley).

First West Yorkshire serve two places called Cottingley, one in Leeds and one near Bradford.
A bit off topic but someone I know who lived in the Cottingley near Bradford wondered why crime had suddenly shot up when they joined the 'local' Facebook group regarding Cottingley, they joined the wrong one lol

First and Transdev in York serve areas with the same name that either have it or don't, such as Clifton With and Clifton Without or Heworth With and Heworth Without.

I can't be 100% certain in Stagecoach days and am happy to be corrected, but I would rather doubt there was any reason for Princess Road vehicles to get to Ashton-under-Lyne. They did get to Oldham (Waterhead in fact) on the 82 in pre-deregulation times though.

Slightly further north, wasn't it often quoted that Rochdale Corporation and its successors ran to at least six places known as 'Summit' even if most of them were prefixed with a district name, eg Thornham Summit?

I have a memory of Princess Rd covering some journeys on the 216 (Magic Bus days maybe ?) but like you, not 100% certain…
