D: How much for two?
S: Three pounds.
D: How much for five?
S: Three pounds.
D: How much for eight?
S: Three pounds.
D: Excellent...I'll have twelve, please!
S: Certainly sir...That'll be six pounds.
So...Considering the prices that I was quoted, what in the name of the Gods was I buying?

2) Last year I went to Spain on holiday and visited the Costa del Sol, it cost me £100 for a return flight out there, the cheapest flight available. This year, because I liked it so much I will be sunning myself on the same lovely beaches and drinking and eating at the same places too! But this time the journey is only going to cost me £1, how come?[/B]

1) I went to a healthy tree with a trunk completely uniform in size, it was 30cm diameter with no imperfections. On Monday I sawed 10cm straight into the trunk and it took me 40 seconds. How long will it take me to saw another 10cm straight (same angle as before) into the trunk at a different part of the trunk 5 days later with the same saw(remember the trunk is totally uniform and without imperfection)??
