Is it because Moses is, the daughter of pharaohs son, whilst the daughter of pharaoh son's name (legally) was Moses.

Anyway it was pharoahs daughter that adopted him, and thus Moses was raised like the king's son.

Either:
  1. There'd been a rather unfortunate mix-up (Or governmental cut-backs) at the registrar of births, Deaths and marriages...And to save time and trouble, they decided to put both children on the same birth certificate.
  2. With "Moses" being a fairly common Middle-Eastern name (Like "Jesus") it's possibly used to name children of both sexes as a matter of routine. :)
  3. Some recent development in genetic engineering that I don't want to know about!
--- Answers above / New question below: ---

I enter a shop to enquire about the price of something that I'm interested in buying. Here's a transcript of the conversation between myself (D) and the shopkeeper (S)... 8)

D: How much for two?
S: Three pounds.
D: How much for five?
S: Three pounds.
D: How much for eight?
S: Three pounds.
D: Excellent...I'll have twelve, please!
S: Certainly sir...That'll be six pounds.

So...Considering the prices that I was quoted, what in the name of the Gods was I buying? ;)<D

Well, I was thinking of numbers for my football strip...But what you said is the same in principle - And thus correct! 8)

...And there was me thinking that would keep people overclocking their brains for at least two weeks!:razz:

I didn't do too well...A rather pitiful 11/20. Here's the nine that I got wrong. :|
The long test duration of 20 mins was because I received a 'phone call half-way through.

Detailed test output:
Code:
   [b]Your Number Correct:[/b] 11/20
            [b]Percentile:[/b] 74.42%
            [b]Time Taken:[/b] 20:23
[b]You are smarter than:[/b] 74.42% of the population
[b]Average Number Correct:[/b] 8.89/20 (From tests taken by all users.)

Nope, here's the answer:

Moses was the son of the Pharaoh's daughter.
The (daughter of the Pharaoh)'s son was Moses.

When does the bespoke tailor use his plonker?

....and keep it civilised please...!

When he wants to iron cloth of course.

So I'm going to have a go, but not having read all the previous pages I may repost one

1) I went to a healthy tree with a trunk completely uniform in size, it was 30cm diameter with no imperfections. On Monday I sawed 10cm straight into the trunk and it took me 40 seconds. How long will it take me to saw another 10cm straight (same angle as before) into the trunk at a different part of the trunk 5 days later with the same saw(remember the trunk is totally uniform and without imperfection)??

2) Last year I went to Spain on holiday and visited the Costa del Sol, it cost me £100 for a return flight out there, the cheapest flight available. This year, because I liked it so much I will be sunning myself on the same lovely beaches and drinking and eating at the same places too! But this time the journey is only going to cost me £1, how come?

Hope these test people enough

Could be any of the following:

(a) It was a special offer £1 ticket from Jet2 or Ryannair or another budget carrier.

or

(b) You bought the flight in euros and the £1 was spent on in-flight scratchcards.

Both wrong I'm afraid. How would it cost me £1 if I wasn't paying, but I like you're lateral thinking keep trying. There is a clue in the question

Still not correct. Don't forget this £1 covers my return trip and gets me on the seafront too.

No-one fancy the tree question yet?

You have bought a lilo or some sort of inflatable device and will rope it to the back of a ship and stick it out over rough sea's, cold temps and lack of food and drink (and sharks or man-eating whales.):lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::roll:

That's still not correct I'm afraid but it's nice and creative of you. I shall put you out of you misery for question 2.

The clue from the question was liking it so much. I bought a nice villa in the surrounding hills and will catch a bus to the seafront area.

question 1: you should have it done in roughly the same amount of time because the tree is uniform in every way, but i know its a trick question so i would say about 39.8173823781638756138756187363516831857623593287576354837647816418 because you will have got slightly stronger since then

Longer, as the saw will be slightly blunter than it was when used to cut the tree beforehand
