I travel to different station and I noticed the penalty written on the signs are different. Some are 1000 pounds and some are 2000, which one is the correct amount I wonder ?

Start here with some history... and remember this was 4 years ago, so things may have moved on.

Posts 2 and 3 make an obvious point - in fact I wonder if there might be one saying Forty Shillings somewhere...

I bought a replica sign and from memory, I'm fairly certain that said 40 shillings.Start here with some history... and remember this was 4 years ago, so things may have moved on.

Can the railway pursue costs caused by trespassers, delay repay , overtime etc.
If they can do they ever?
Japanese railway companies fine families for suicides.
Been discussed in another thread but I am 100% in favour of this
Back in the real world, trespassing is seldom even noticed, let alone resulting in prosecution.
"High profile" trespass such as for photographing steam specials, can and does result in prosecution, but most cases are not even noticed.
Near where I used to live in London it was commonplace.
Railway trespass is different to civil trespass in that it is a criminal offence. This only relates to line side trespass and is enforceable under the s.55 of the British Transport Commission Act 1949.I dont know about the railways but in the real world trespass is a tort law basically its not a criminal offence. Years ago a bloke got into buckingham palace and sat on the queens bed and they couldn't prosecute him so it had to be updated I think if i am correct it only really counts for royal property, ministry of defence and one or two others.
In the 70s a GWR sign still existed by the level crossing at Exeter St David's threatening a 40 shilling fine and furthermore one month's imprisonment if you didn't pay it.I bought a replica sign and from memory, I'm fairly certain that said 40 shillings.
Police have revealed a teenager who was hit by 25,000 volts of electricity while playing near a Midlands railway suffered 40% burns.
One of the teenagers, aged 13, suffered 'life-changing' injuries from an electric shock. His friend, also 13, suffered minor burns when he went to his pal's aid and pushed him away from the current - receiving a shock in the process.
