Dunno, at this point id just wait and see what trent have put out after the 31st. It might be that they operate on the current timetable for a few days probably making a loss except on the night service then operate the every 15 from the 7th

As of yet there is no sign of the new Trent x38 timetable.
Roadworks are causing severe delays at the moment. Trent appeared to give up today, missing their last 2 round trips from Derby. Arriva added an additional vehicle.
In my opinion Trent already struggle to operate what they have without trying to operate more. It is a shame, because they can, and have been a good bus company in general - they just seem to struggle to maintain this lately.

Derby had three vehicles not on the road today. 269 716 and 847. 716 has supposedly gone to kinchbus (via bustimes so might and probably is false) and 847 was reportedly at langley mill. Im unsure about 269 but probably having work done at meadow road. So unless they had a bus come off a service early or got an optare solo to go on theres wasn't really a way for them to put extra busses on. If they took a bus off a service (branded or spare) itll mean they have a cancelled run on that service just to cover x38. Especially when arriva were covering it there wasn't really much need. TB might as well cover the services which actually matter currently and then focus on x38 when its needed and let arriva run all the extra runs. Especially when arriva has most of the routes start running reduced service around 5 - 6pm freeing up lots of vehicles to go on the route.

They have also had a bus missing on the allestree nearly all day, and red arrow and probably others too -what will change in a couple of weeks? Will all the x38 services mean more buses missing on other services?
Maybe yes, but it should have priority, if the route is being competitive why shouldn't it have priority of vehicles. No doubt though derby might get some extra spares. As mentioned above 824 has joined derby today which means thats an extra vehicle for derby. Along with the new mickleovers going into service soon itll also reduce how many spares go on the likes of mickleover.
Red arrow has a few coaches off, but with the service being ran at around 8 - 9 vehicles every day with spares which in my eyes is very good.
I have heard passengers saying how nice the new mmcs are inside with the tinted windows with it feeling cool inside. I then heard the same passenger tell another passenger how old the bus we were on was (we were on solar 669). The passengers aren't oblivious and if they see new vehicles on the routes they will inevitably start trying to travel on them.

The travelling public want reliability over everything else. Trentbarton has been dismal on the X38 (and many other routes too) and Arriva has finally decided to sort out the reliability. You can't have a jointly operated route when one party fails to fulfil its obligations.
Fresh availability of new buses, fresh liveries etc are all very nice but most passengers just want to have the bus turn up when it should do.
Goodness knows what the negative impact will be on other TB routes when they have to allocate 6 (?) buses to the X38.

When they're not broken down that is. Some of the new villagers are having teething issues that is leaving a little bit of a sour taste for some travellers.
In other news, ex-H1 Volvos 732/3/4 (FJ09 BXM/N/O) have since been repainted into a slightly revised X38 livery ahead of the upcoming timetable changes.

To be fair to trentbarton, all of the vehicles tend to run for 16-18 hours per day, bar Sundays and Bank Holidays. And they are teething problems remember, so while they could be a slight issue at the moment, they probably won't last for too long. Look at the skylink Derby (Derby - East Midlands Airport - Loughborough - Leicester bus route) vehicles, they were suffering the same teething problems, and while a couple of them are currently off the road, the majority of them seem to be operating perfectly fine.

Seems a bit strange to swap a Volvo for another Volvo, must be a reason for it but I can't understand why.
If it's being used with on loan to Kinchbus legals it can only work for a maximum of 21 days with them but if they transfer it to the legals of Kinchbus.ltd then no need too swap about.

735 may not have transferred back but I'm not 100% sure at the moment. If 716 has been transferred though does that mean another is due over to Kinchbus as Derby depot has recieved 2 new mango MMCs?
Since bustimes is suggesting solo 7 had an engine fire, 492 or whichever solo goes might get transfered there. Unless they take a solo sr from langley depot and give lm the solo for the time being.
Ah, shame id rather a Volvo covering the likes of red arrow than the Cerc engined Versas. The new mmcs on red arrow are very nice, very smooth so I wouldnt mind them as much
Odd my ENCT has validated on night x38s before, although Staffordshire County Council fund all day disabled travel,

That may be my fault, apologies. The only photo I could find of it wasn't that clear. Just seems to be in the H1 colours with some new vinyls then.

Actually the effect on other TB and others may be seen with Arriva running their X38 into the bus station. At a stroke, any Arriva passenger on any route can just change bays onto an Arriva X38, maybe even to the Royal. They can do that on an Arriva day ticket, which may well be cheaper than Spectrum or the £2 fare. Of course, it gets fun when the £2 fare. Maybe it makes travel by Arriva to the Royal or Burton even more attractive on weekly tickets. So, it could affect multiple Wellglade routes, due to improved connectivity and better value fares. Now Arriva say "following passenger feedback". Surely Trentbarton ought to have had the same feedback... Of course throw in reduced or less local car parking at the Royal Hospital, maybe users are looking for cost effective alternatives. I suspect the X38 won't be the only route targeted.
Well what we have been told and rota changes are happening from the 31st so as far as we are concerned the new timetable for the X38s is happening on the 31st.
735 was spotted in engineering (When i finished about 30 mins ago) and (if it does transfer back to TB derby) that would mean 732 through to 738 would be Derby based. In terms of fleet numbers it would look good in the books.
Plus new mickelover-liveried 319 was parked up in the car park with 2 of the newly vinyled X38s (732 and 34) behind it.
