149 indeed has a tinted window on the offside behind the luggage rack.Kinch do seem to be replacing broken windows with the tinded ones so it might be something trent will do as well

However, Arriva has taken the decision to unilaterally try and corner the market. Now TB could either respond, or they could meekly accept their fate AND, having done that, sent out a clear message to everyone else that you can simply park your tanks on their lawn.
I do think trentbarton have gone the smart move with their response. Going from corporation street connects trent passengers from services 9.1, 9.3, h1 and allestree all terminating within that area during the day (others during early morning and late evening service). Also having the terminus on the route rather than diverting to the bus station which would take time.
If trent were blindsided then yeah they would be scrambling to do something last minute. Arriva is a large company with a depot just shut down so they will have extra busses spare. Trent are part of wellglade who don't really have many busses in comparison. Its only chance they have the extra from services having upgrades. It’s telling that Arriva seemed to have their registration in on time with support from all three Councils and TB are scrambling to do something last minute
Corporation street to Victoria Street yeah depends on road works but probably about a minute. Bus Station to Victoria Street probably takes longer since there's bus station traffic and the traffic lights which would slow it down. The time difference between Corporation Street to Victoria Street or Bus Station to Victoria Street has got to be less than a minute.
I just saw indigo 201 with smashed back windows on the drivers side so I guess we will see what that gets for replacementProbably will get them when their replacements are due or if damage occurs. Hopefully the former rather than the latter.
I was on a bus today, going down Albert Street. Green light by Birds and a dumper truck came flying the other way. I guess one day next year, all these pavement/cycle lane works will be finished. That said, it might get interesting if something breaks down along there. If trent were blindsided then yeah they would be scrambling to do something last minute. I will say though, 492 has broken down at market place bus stop on v3. Currently only 847 is on the route with them not putting another bus on at the 10.05 from Derby to Burton.

269 was taken off the mickleover for the 1105 from Derby with 847 stepping back an hour after arriving into Derby late.I will say though, 492 has broken down at market place bus stop on v3. Currently only 847 is on the route with them not putting another bus on at the 10.05 from Derby to Burton.
Yeah i saw 269 going out of the bus station around 11.15. Nothing on the blind though so i thought it was returning to the depot until i checked bus times.269 was taken off the mickleover for the 1105 from Derby with 847 stepping back an hour after arriving into Derby late.
Pronto was not handed over on a plate by any stretch of the imagination.Regarding the X38, It really would be in the best interest for passengers for it to be a single operator, and trentbarton really has not done well over the past few years. If Arriva operate the X38 well after the timetable change then I imagine most people will opt for that. Trentbarton isn't exactly well trusted at the moment and I wouldn't be half surprised if they hand it over on a plate like they did with the Pronto
Do you have the details of the situation? Just curiousPronto was not handed over on a plate by any stretch of the imagination.
Exactly and the resources saved from it could be distributed elsewhere.Regarding the X38, It really would be in the best interest for passengers for it to be a single operator, and trentbarton really has not done well over the past few years. I still think Trent running via Stretton all day would have been a better more sustainable option. Use 3 buses, every 30 minutes. Could even terminate every other villager at Tutbury to save a bus, thus keeping overall costs the same. This would build on the brand, as they have already established the weekend evening route in the area. It would have created better more useful links that may attract new custom - aswell as maintaining a fast service between Derby and Burton for their ticket holders/those who do not wish to use arriva.
Instead we see 3 extra buses from Trent thrown on x38 - massive extra costs and likely not the uptake in passengers to pay for it.

If we look at this another way, perhaps it would make better sense for Arriva to pull out, as since selling Burton depot and curtailing the 29 back to Swadlincote, they have no other bus services in Burton-upon-Trent, whereas besides the X38, Trentbarton also runs the Villager and V3 into Burton. It doesn't make sense for TrentBarton to simply accept their fate on the X38. What signal does it send out to anyone that you can simply register against them and they'll capitulate? That's not to say that this hasn't been "invited" by TB with the standard of operation recently, but it doesn't make sense to unilaterally hand the route over.
Similarly, simply using the resources to uplift other Burton to Derby routes doesn't mean that that's a good use of resources. Run via Stretton... what reaction from Diamond? Let's not forget that it's not that many years ago (2017) that they looked at the Villager routes and took the opportunity to reorganise them.
Terminating a villager at Tutbury would reduce Rolleston service to hourly for most (ok there is Diamond route 1 on weekdays).I still think Trent running via Stretton all day would have been a better more sustainable option. Indeed trent has managed to change a once supported on evenings and Sundays with cast offs from other routes into a route which now pays for itself enough to have brand new buses. It doesn't make sense for TrentBarton to simply accept their fate on the X38. Noticed it still says Derby, Debenhams years after the store moved to Derbion then closedLooks like trentbarton's x38 changes come into effect on the 7th of September

https://www.route-one.net/news/strong-words-between-arriva-and-trentbarton-over-x38-competition/I see the X38 situation between Arriva and Trentbarton gets a mention in Route One magazine. If anyone is able to attach said article, they are better than me at such.
Odd, that just today routeone says they start 31st August.Looks like trentbarton's x38 changes come into effect on the 7th of September

In response, Trentbarton will run X38 journeys every 15 minutes from 31 August, putting the two operators in head-to-head competition. Trentbarton journeys will serve what the operator says is a better-sited location in the centre of Derby than the current terminus.
But surely of Trentbarton were "blindsided" by the Arriva registration, it would be near impossible to register a service to start from the same date. Surely both had to give the fixed xx days notice. I laughed earlier when I saw a change from Derby, Debenhams. Been a few years since Debenhams were in Victoria Street.Odd, that just today routeone says they start 31st August.

Strong words between Arriva and Trentbarton over X38 competition - routeone
Arriva and Trentbarton have fallen out over Arriva's decision to end collaboration on route X38 between Burton-on-Trent and Derby.www.route-one.net
Even odder that I can't find anything about the changes on trentbarton's website.
I'd trust bustimes more since it gets its registrations from the traffic commission service. However it might be wrong I guess we will see. Also routeone might of meant arriva instead.Odd, that just today routeone says they start 31st August.
I don't think its been announced yet officially by them. Its only just turned up on bus times today so id assume within the next few weeks itll be properly announced with timetables. (Before August 31st id assume though to give passengers notice)Even odder that I can't find anything about the changes on trentbarton's website.
Probably something that just hasn't been updated, or is referred to as debenhams to keep it simplerI laughed earlier when I saw a change from Derby, Debenhams. Been a few years since Debenhams were in Victoria Street.
There is a major restructuring project at the traffic lights of the old bridge. So that will be kneecapping the V3, Diamond are routing their 8 & 9 through the brizlingcote valley untill the works are done.Burton looks like it is a car park again with most buses heading back to Derby about an hour late (i'm assuming some roadworks has popped up this week). Volvo 717 has been drafted onto the V3 as both vehicles ended up running together and Arriva have put an extra Pulsar on the X38.
I've often struggled to find service change information on the 'new' Trent Barton websiteEven odder that I can't find anything about the changes on trentbarton's website.
Don't think it helps that there isn't a search bar, so you have to find it manually through the menuI've often struggled to find service change information on the 'new' Trent Barton website
Is the change information on TB’s website, could you copy a link here please?Don't think it helps that there isn't a search bar, so you have to find it manually through the menu
No changes have been submitted on the website, they’ve only just registered the changes with VOSA…Is the change information on TB’s website, could you copy a link here please?
Trentbarton haven't released a actual new timetable yet so it's unknown what the difference will bereally not a good timetable, TB leave five minutes after AD, and in the evening, two buses within 5 mins, then nothing for an hour. not good for passengers, or the companies concerned.. some one will lose money, and I fear it will be Trent Barton in this case..
Will it even kick in on the same day?Trentbarton haven't released a actual new timetable yet so it's unknown what the difference will be
