Ah, but not just any spare, given what someone said about Enviro 200MMCs and Versas. About a week ago, someone said 738 was awaiting collection from Nottingham.
Yeah, but most of the spares (which are allowed to go on the swift route from Monday) seem to be working on the Mickleover service.

Ah well. That will soon be sorted when the Mickleover gets their new buses. They will be super reliable..
Going off the new villager's hopefully they will. Can't say as much for ilkeston flyer's, however there's many reasons they might have spares on

Remember that when talking about "mickleovers", "villagers" and "swifts" etc., please make it clear in your posts that you're either referring to the named routes or vehicles in those liveries.

Your posts must make sense to *everyone* and not just a small group of enthusiasts.

It seems to have gone unnoticed however Indigo branded ADL 201 saw use on the Cotgrave (the bus route, not the place) on Wednesday. Nice to see the operator prioritising running service over making sure brands don't stray!

N&D Solo 471 is back in use at Trentbarton also.

Swift is the Derby to Ashbourne/,Uttoxeter
Villagers are V1/V3 between Derby and Burton On Trent via various villages
The Mickleover is the Derby to Mickleover area of Derby

The V1 and V3 were separated when the Volvo's came with the V1 being dropped and still branded the villager while the V3 became a spare bus route (typically solo's).

The Mickleover seems to be up to 5 out of 6 branded vehicles today after a few days of just having 3 available.

With regards to the Mickleover branded buses, maybe they took parts of Red Arrow branded coaches, as four of the nine seem to be off today.

Whilst walking past Derby depot today, I noticed that Sixes branded Optare Versa 841 was back off the jacks, and looked almost put back together... Well missing two or three engine bay panels...Reports of its demise may have been premature.

Is the v3 the poor relation to the villager, Poor quality buses with no livery
Supposed to be getting Versas 826 and 827 one day, but I doubt it will see new buses, despite increased loadings in recent years. Seems only the other day, Blue Bus of Willington ran low height double deckers on the route.

827 has recently appeared on the route but 826 is at the moment dead at the back of the depot. There dosent seem to be rush to get it done

I am sure that Notts and Derby are taking advantage of 826 being available. Thought I saw it come down the Morledge earlier. Maybe it was 823. It was the debranded one, anyway. I am sure there are plenty of orange and indeed red Versas they could finish off first.

I've noticed recently that although all the branded buses on skylink Nottingham (trentbarton) were out today, there was 1 spare out. This seems to have been happening for the past few weeks on some days, so does anyone know why this is happening?

Adding on to that, has there ever been a versa sent out on skylink Nottingham?

Could be a case that a branded bus needed a minor tweak, and was back out fairly quickly, with a spare bus covering. Can't recall Versas every being allocated to Nottingham depot.

Skylink nottingham express seems to be struggling. All the branded solar off as well as 743 and now it looks like 744 has broken down. With 214 (indigo branded), 217 (mango) and 725 (mango) all tracking on there.

It does feel like that the E200MMCs are more reliable than the Volva B7s, and although B7s will always be better quality wise, I don't understand why they don't just buy new MMCs for the skylink Express

I've not managed to get on an mmc on skylink express yet, but when 269 has been on red arrow it doesn't seem to have the power. Might be different for a 6 pot mmc though.

I have been on a MMC on the skylink express, it seemed fine and arrived into Friar Lane 1 minute early. However, gathering from what most people think about spares on the Red Arrow, it would make sense for MMCs to stay away from operating on faster routes like the Red Arrow.

Does anyone know when the Scania Solars are gonna be withdrawn from TB?

Yeah they arrive on time but its stuff like getting up to speed that would be a worry. If your on a motorway and cars are passing by and your still trying to get up to speed it can get dangerous

The ADLs I've been on seem to struggle at high speeds and are very loud. At 50mph they're at 2000rpm creating a racket yet a B7RLE will sit happily at 1500rpm

744 hadn't broken down. There were severe delays which meant it had skipped a journey. 214 was brought in to help out with the delays

Ah, when i checked it looked like it was stationary, i knew there was delays but didn't clock it was stuck in traffic. My point still stands about the vehicles struggling a bit though with a majority of the vehicles on the route being spares.

ADLs struggle with speed? I was driving between Spondon and Kirk Hallam one day last week, at a nice steady 50mph and an Ilkeston Flyer MMC caught me up, and from a standing start. I wonder how well they are keeping to timetable?

I'd imagine the Scanias would go, when they come up with another Volvo to put on Skylink Express. Maybe a H1 one.

To answer the question about new MMCs one would have to know how profitable the Skylink Express is.
