Hello, I had tried to buy tickets to Guildford earlier and saw the network railcard option, I was going to buy but I closed it when it was asking for a picture. The price shown for return trip from Waterloo to Guildford was £18 and when I saw £13, I just assumed it was off peak. Now when the officer stopped me, I genuinely did not have the ticket and I was shocked when he said railcard, I told him I don’t have it. He said my actual Tfare and I thought why was he lying. (I have checked the exact time for the same trip tomorrow) and it’s still showing £18+. He saw my Trainline history and asked if I’ve ever used any before, I told him 18-30 and when it expired, I didn’t get another one. I was tensed so I said the rail card expired later than I meant and it just felt like he could have asked me to pay the fare difference but he didn’t. I have always paid the right fee but I’m just worried about the prosecution and the admin fees because I didn’t know. I tried contacting Trainline about the railcard being added but their answer was that they rely on their customers verifying their info which is fair. I’m also moving out of my current address this weekend and I’d like to know what to expect.
