Hey, I have an MMI coming up, does anyone have any insight on what the questions will be or how many there is, any help greatly appreciated.
Normally it's 6 scenario questions that you prepare to be grilled on.

If you use the forum search function, you will easily find examples of the type of questions asked. I won't tell you exactly what they are on here in the name of fairness for all applicants.

Are the 6 questions always the same or is it like a pool of questions they can pick from?

Yes you will get a 10-15 mins to read the questions and write a short sentence reply to the 6 questions then lunch break before going to do them. You'll see the questions before hand.
I won’t publish them for fairness but if you search there on this site numerous times over the exact questions.

Just had an unsuccessful email this morning, had just taken stage 2 last week and made it through to the MMI. Was a little confused when I asked for feedback, as it stated I had failed on the Bourbon. Although I had passed it on stage 1 and it was good enough to progress I failed against TPE overall benchmark. Very frustrating from my perspective having felt like I did enough in the MMI. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I didn’t understand it at first it doesn’t make sense much. Although my score was good enough to progress at stage 1, once they had reviewed all results against TPE enhanced benchmark (assuming that’s stage 2 tests too) the group bourbon score didn’t meet the higher standard. Which is still difficult to understand right? You either pass or you don’t..

I only was there last Wednesday so didn’t expect such a fast response and I doubt they’ve had feedback on my MMI which leads me to think was that even necessary if I had failed on the tests. A difficult one to process!

Hence why I’ve asked if anyone has had similar experiences as I’ve never seen this mentioned on here before.

So you passed to national standard just not TPE’s is that correct?

Quite possibly, I’ve asked them to clarify but that would make sense!
Sorry to hear that you've been told you're unsuccessful, I was under the impression that if you'd been invited to the MMI you've passed all the preceding tests. Did they say that you'd passed your MMI and not your GB test? If it's just the GB test you've failed I guess the silver lining is that's one of the tests you can really practice on and make sure you ace next time.

As was I it would make a whole lot sense, I’ve asked for a better understanding on the process. I doubt they will have the results for the MMI as we were told 7-10 (last Wednesday) the only feedback I’ve received is that I passed GB at stage 1 but failed it on the overall assessment at stage 2. I just don’t understand why I was kept back for the MMI as some unfortunate applicants were sent home after the tests and didn’t get the same opportunity. You’d think if I had failed I would have fallen into the same category as those unfortunate applicants! Disappointing, thanks for the encouraging words.

If you pass at national standard, it's correct to let you continue as your score is part of a wider process, not just in TPE.

You could use that pass as an application to another company that use the national standard.

I got to DMI but failed on this disappointingly, but can't seem to get any feedback.

Is this the first time you've sat anything? Also where did the feedback email come from?

Does anyone have an idea when TPE might advertise for the next wave of Trainee Train Drivers?

Don’t think I have seen anything this calendar year as of yet.

They have advertised fully for 26/27 financial year I believe. There was a drive for Piccadilly, Sheffield and Liverpool in January/February and everywhere else is either full and not needing new trainees, or has people in a talent pool from Summer 2025 applicants.

I suspect the next batch of openings will be late Autumn or early winter, for early 27/28 starts
