What day do you have testing? There's stage 1 testing at that time in Leeds on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I think.

I’ve just had my feedback today. Failed on the 6th question which was a disappointment.
There was an unplanned fire alarm and evacuation at the hotel right after my 5th question. Had to stop the interview to leave and then go back in for the 6th!
I’m now racking my brains wondering how and why where etc, but I’m overly aware of the fact that it all felt very different after the interruption.
I think it would have been an easier pill to swallow if it was the first or second question I failed on which was my initial gut feeling.
Sorry to hear that, I've heard before that assessors asked if people were OK to continue after things like fire alarms. Did that happen for you?

I asked just over 2 weeks ago but I'm keen to improve for next time, so tempted to send a chaser email

Sorry to hear this , to get to MMI stage and not pass is a very bitter pill to swallow.
I was on question 2 when I heard the other 2 candidates being let away, I thought this can’t be right , I’m not even half way through and they have been let away ( they passed - I didn’t)
It didn’t help that one of the other assessors kept peeking through the window , this really unnerved me as I thought I must be doing something wrong as I’m still here and an assessor is looking through the window as if to say what’s taking them so long. In the absence of feedback I have no idea where I went wrong , I thought I answered all the questions as best I could. Mine took over 2 hours

I failed my DMI in Sept 2025 (applied July 2025), I emailed for feedback and got a call the next day from the main interviewer to chat about it.
I guess it may well depend on your panel as to how they provide feedback, it surprised me that it wasn’t just an email back from recruitment. I’d be tempted to chase if it’s been more than two weeks.

I honestly don’t remember the assessor asking but that’s not to say they didn’t. Fire alarms are fairly routine so it didn’t occur to me that it may have affected my immediate concentration etc . I personally found the whole interview very stressed and disjointed if I’m honest, it’s the first time I’ve been through a process like that so wasn’t sure how to prepare, it was just a lot harder to process after the break in proceedings.
Hindsight is 20-20 and potentially I should have asked not to continue but the fear of when and if I could resit far outweighed any minor inconvenience of as a fire alarm. I didn’t realise how much the interruption had disrupted me until I was already back in the interview and feeling myself struggling, at that point it’s very difficult to identify and stop the process when it’s your first experience in that kind of situation. As has been mentioned by another post, with the ongoing distractions it’s very difficult to stop when you’ve started.
When I say thought I failed the first few questions rather than my last it was purely down to the example rather than the way in which I explained it. Looking at it now I can identify my failed question was definitely one of my stronger situational examples, it was my ability to elaborate on the details of the example which let me down vs the other questions.
On a positive note I know exactly what to expect next time and where to focus my preparations!

How do you know they passed?
I presume TPE have already emailed you with the bad news? (I got my email the next day)
If you want feedback you can email admin@theopc.co.uk and request it. They sent me a response to expect a call within two weeks but had to call them in week 4 as they had been too busy to get to me in the time scale.
The feedback was quite vague but ultimately they identified it was only question 6 where I failed.

Sorry to hear you didn't pass either. Last hurdle got us both.
I've sent a gentle chaser, but I can imagine they are all absolutely inundated currently.
How was your feedback? Was it specific to each question or just the overall structure and competency they fed back on?
I've gone away and thought about my answers, I can already think of a few things to improve myself but just want to make sure I'm on the right path.

I'm sorry you didn't quite hit the mark on this occasion, but I'm sure you'll smash it next time.
Not to jump on what I'm sure is a fresh wound, but is there anything that immediately stands out to you in terms of what you might have done better, or said differently?

For me, I feel the structure (STAR model) wasn't there enough and answering questions about fatigue management is 2nd nature to me in my current job, I could have answered this better I reckon.
Looking back is definitely alot easier, but, just disappointed that I could have done better first time round.
I just hope opportunities come around sooner rather than later

Very much appreciated. Yep, easy enough to prepare for STAR, not so easy in the moment - your brain can very annoyingly steer you in a different direction.
I'm sure opportunities will appear soon enough, and with psychometrics presumably in the bag and a DMI to reflect on, you'll ace it

2nd stage is computerised tests, and MMI if you pass them.

So somehow I managed to pass stage 2! Very happy. Waiting for my DMI invite.
I've started researching, my biggest concern is there's so much to research I'll never remember it all!!
