The OHLE will still need the final tie-in to Church Fenton and associated signalling/ECR changes, which is likely to take place at either Christmas or Easter to facilitate a long enough possession.
It's been consistently posted that Neville Hill is waiting for the area to be reconfigured, and will be the last part of York-Leeds. To quote from the Enhancements Delivery Plan:
Also relevant from the EDP is that the Entry into Service of TRU Segments E234 Leeds - Church Fenton (Line Speed, Electrification and Level Crossing Closures) is on-target for
April 2030.
If we look at Section 7 of the 2026/27 Engineering access statement, there is a 'presumed christmas shutdown' for Leeds-Church Fenton for the TRU East OLE Commissioning 24-26 December 2026. (see p.116).
