Don't hassle recruitment they will no doubt be inundated with applications.

If you don't like hanging around unaware of what's going on train driving really isn't for you

And I dont see why thats got anything to do with being a train driver. If guys want too contact HR because they might be experiencing problems or have a general enquiries then thats up to them, it will do no harm, it wont effect their application and it certainly does not have anything to do with being a train driver.

Problem is, these things do take a long time - (i'm still pending from an initial sift for a company in January - and its still 'active' apparently)

Whilst it's alright saying on paper that it won't affect your application and it has little to do with train driving - when it comes to a role where a company can have their pick of candidate who wants to nominate themselves to HR as the impatient one?

I can absolutely see why people advise to just sit tight (unless there's a change of circumstance or an enquiry that isn't along the lines of 'whats happening now then?'). It's not nice all this waiting, but I don't see any advantage as if there was news you'd know.

Whilst I agree not to hassle recruitment it is completely upto you but I doubt you will find a direct number for recruitment so ring customer services they will help you

Don't ring customer services they are based in Plymouth and are contractor. You will be wasting your time. Just sit tight.

Has anyone conducted train driver assessments before when applying for TPE. I only ask is because I have sat and passed the tests in Doncaster and as far as I am lead to believe is some TOCs and FOCs require you too sit additional tests????

Does anyone know how the interview is marked because it was only at most 5 minutes between finishing to finding out I'd passed.

Unless you work in recruitment how can you make this generalisation?

I do agree, however has anyone been in this position before and was successful. Its been nearly two weeks, can it take this long just for telephone interviews???

Suppose it depend how many they have to do

Yes I suppose, with the vacancy opening and closing in less than 24 HRS and looking for 10 drivers across 4 locations will be a tall order to finding good candidates. What suprised me was people getting interviews within days of submitting their online assessments lol

That was like me and getting a successful email not 5 minutes after my interview

It's not uncommon across the job market as a whole. My current employers phoned me within 5 days of me completing my psychometric test. Had a proper face to face interview within another 5 days and then ended up with a job offer two days later.

But how common is it to be successful for an interview after two weeks no news?

I don't know mate, I only completed my online tests last night, I am not worried to be honest. There obviously was thousands of applicants. The telephone interviews are carried out by an external company. Last time I went for it I did the same online tests late on too, and then a week and half later had a phone interview and passed. TPE sent me to Doncaster and I did the two days of assessments all in one day inc the structured interview. I passed them all to the TPE standard but didnt get the job after drivewr manager interview. So I am hopeful that I at least get to DM stage again this time. But as of yet have not heard anything. Fingers crossed!

Not heard a thing. Yet another knock back, maybe time to think that maybe it's time to put my energy into another avenue. Can't keep getting my hopes up and then nothing. ( I'm from the railway, so I know how things are, I'm not being defitist or owt)

Well done?
Where for?
How long was it from after interview to them emailing you?

Manchester

It was literally within half an hour of speaking to them! They said it would take up to four weeks to hear from them about the next step.
