I saw one going the other way last week - towads Laira.
As I have posted 3? times now! :roll:
Laira does all major exams on all the HST fleet (thats power cars and coaches).
Basically any HST North of Dawlish is cut off, anything South of Dawlish is fine!
This is a recording have a nice day!
I recorded it to save repeating myself, myself, myself!
Some more info for everyone to ignore-
Laira fitters are bussed up to Bristol and put up in Hotels for a few days so they can carry out exams at Philips Marsh, Exeter fitters are bussed down to Laira to maintain the units there.
There is no point training Laira fitters on units because then there wouldnt be enough to send to Bristol to maintain the HSTs, plus the fact that Exeter fitters dont have as much work on at Exeter (half their units are the wrong side of Dawlish) so it makes sense to send them fitters to Laira to maintain the units there.
Please note this information has come directly from a fitters mouth (after plying him with copious amounts of alcohol
) and if anyone knows any different then please post it, if you dont know for sure then please dont question it with supposition and half truths!Thank you for reading.

I understand 150247 has been low-loaded down and seen working Gunnislake Branch.
It did take a couple of days to recover but I dont mind taking one (or several
) for the team! If anyone wants any more information I will be interrogating him again on Saturday 1st march!

Na he is fine, we got the railway stuff out the way early on before getting onto the serious stuff, trying to chat women up that are 20 years younger than us and waaaaay out of our league, hence why we both ended up as drunk as matresses and both slept on our own!

Does anybody know anything re maintenance of the XC Voyagers over and above routine servicing, i.e. if due Exams.

I believe some Bombardier engineers are being outbased at Laira temporarily to carry out some exams, though how much they are gona be able to do is debateable....
There is still an overnight path in for XC to run from Exeter to Bristol via Yeovil so if a set needs swapping they can use that.
The train would be piloted by a FGW driver.
Please ignore this rubbish!

Unless I'm reading wrong I assume he is asking about those stuck west of Dawlish, due to the reference of Laira.

I notice XC have been running 3 HST diagrams on the Exeter trains on an almost daily basis in the last 2 weeks, usually 2 on Tues-Thurs. Presumably this is due to 4 Voyagers being trapped west of Dawlish?
To quote a old post I photographed 220013 and 220014 on Saturday and note 220013 is not mentioned on the trapped fleet list. I also photographed 150125- the driver made my 3 year old daughters day giving a blow on the horn as he passed us.
