Interior pictures available, looking pretty awful imo.

Well, I'm less happy than I was, aren't they the awful seats from the Class 800?

Colour scheme looks nice, though. Window alignment, or lack thereof, doesn't.

1st looks good, though I wonder why no leather unlike the 185s?

Intrigued where that "pillar view" bay is, as the pillar looks much wider than the actual window pillars or the ones further down, yet none of the coaches only have 3 windows. Is one blocked on one side for something? TBH I'd flip that row round, as then you'd just have a row of airlines with no window and a row with a borderline OK one.

Well the window alignment is a bit of a shame but otherwise I’m quite excited about this; it’s proper long distance stock, the like of which we haven’t seen since the mk 4s. Plenty of room, a nice airy interior, proper sized overhead luggage racks, vestibules, etc etc... For passengers on those TPE routes that were formerly served by proper intercity stock until they were replaced by tarted-up suburban style DMUs, these (and, from what I’ve seen, the other nova stock) will seem like a sea change.

Oh Dear, well I have never been keen on the impractical seat colours which also look like something out of a bad 1970's sci fi movie, but the early renders of nice looking seats appear to have been transformed into IET seats, like the nice looking seats in the early renders of the 195's have been transformed into Ironing Boards.

I guess its not surprising I would expect the same seats for all their new trains and different seats in TPE 802's was probably too much to ask:rolleyes:

As an aside I expect its bad news for those expecting different seats in the Hull Trains 802's:rolleyes:

Yes, I do think the blue is too light, a darker blue would look much better. But it's a minor point.

The seat scheme in 1st looks the same as Arriva use.

The tables are not yet fitted (unless they are seat back ones out of view).
The seat colour scheme looks similar to the refurbished 185s, which is not bad.

The standerd class seats are the same as the 800 but looks like it has more cousin on it.

Overall, Good interior

Well poor colour scheme, poor seats, poor window alignment, thick window pillars but I guess part from that its ok.

However the fact that its loco hauled means that it will be immune to any criticism that would normally be applied to other train types on here:lol::lol:

Just seen a trailer on the BBC News looks like it will be on Look North after the Main News.

Well just seen the Look North feature, plenty of shots on the test track, and a short comment from Pete Waterman on the train by the looks of it, where the **** does he fit into it?, they also comment that all TPE new Trains will be built abroad, which is either incorrect or Hitachi are no longer building most of the TPE 802's at the UK Plant.

They were always going to be built in Italy as they can be provided quicker there than from Aycliffe
I imagine the Newport CAF factory won't be open in time for TPE either.

Most 802s will be produced in Italy, as has been stated before due to full order book at Newton Aycliffe.

And that's been stated where exactly? Yes we know the GWR ones are coming fron italy but the original press releases from TPE clearly stated that the most of the TPE ones would assembled at Newton Aycliffe. So either that's been changed, Look North is wrong or the original press releases were misleading.

A couple of sources from the last update on the 802s (December 17) mention Newton Aycliffe, but TPE's own press release doesn't mention Newton Aycliffe at all, indeed it says "The trains will be built across Hitachi’s global manufacturing sites."

Slow progress on IEP and class 385 delivery can't have helped production capacity at Newton Aycliffe.
I doubt any TOC/Rosco can tell Hitachi where to build its trains - IEP excepted, as that was fundamental to the DfT contract.
They should be the identical product whoever screws them together.

Well they can if they make it a condition of the contract, but TPE probably didn't do that particularly as it seemed to be part of a bigger First Order.

Just casting my mind back to what @BMIFlyer was saying in another thread about how TPE will effectively end up with 'identical' 5 car units (+ the 185s which might be removed in the next franchise) - no prizes then for guessing what seat the 802s and 397s will be fitted with, having seen this as well as the 800s.

The seat to window alignment is disappointing but I can forgive that for more capacity so long as the seats are reasonably comfortable.

I thought that the trains looked somehow familiar. Then I realised it: TPE has used the same fabric on the floor as we used in Holland for the seats of our infamous V250 Fyra units. Would the train quality also be the same? :E

And you seem to have copied the 2nd class seats with only some extra armrests of our new short distance all station service trains, the SNG (Sprinter New Generation), too :E
(Yes, obviously, they are a little bit different, I'm just joking ;))

The look north news story has obviously just produced loads of negative comments. I do despise facebook.

Looks a lot better on those, though I am genuinely disappointed at the choice of such a low quality seat rather than the seat used in the Northern Irish CAF DMUs which was shown on the renders.
Have you actually ever sat in those? They look good, but IMO are not that comfortable, they lack good lateral support. Fine for short journeys, but I was wanting out by the time I got to Londonderry...

We're going to get big thumping diesels on the end of a set of stock, and people are concerned about the colour of the seat fabric.

Reporters at the test track have stated you cannot hear the loco when travelling in the FC coach which is nearest the loco.
