They have clearly been changed to match the design of the 185s (possibly a tactic to fool the passengers into thinking that they are the same trains?)
That will never happen , they don't even look like 170s antymore:la:

Nice pic.... Shame about the apparent trespass![]()
Im suprised they put the First logo on the front after the commotion with Keolis, looks nice though.
GoVia branded everything with "Thameslink" yet Keolis didn't complain then...
So?
Thameslink doesn't imply ownership by GoVia OR Keolis, yet First Transpennine Express (when you look at the other FirstGroup franchises in the UK - First Great Western, First Scotrail) implies TPX is solely a FirstGroup franchise; that was the issue.

Don't libel people on this forum. I thought you had stopped troublemaking.Nice pic.... Shame about the apparent trespass![]()
You will need to go to the area and prove that he trespassed to be able to make that claim legitimately. If you are unable to do so, then don't make the accusation.
They were taken from the foot crossing - looks like the far edges of it.
Admittedly not very sensible when trains are passing but doubt its illegal.
Any word on when these will come into service?
POSSIBLY the 12th I've heard today! TPE want rid of 158's ASAP.
You don't know what you've let yourself in for :mrgreen:ExcellentI'll be out to phot them at Hull as soon as I can!
To see go pics of the new 170s is on http://kiyransphotos.fotopic.net/
Seen my first TPE 170 today, in Huddersfield. I was walking up to the station across St George's Square and saw it coming in, heading towards Manchester, so I sprinted into the station, bought my ticket and got onto the platform, just in time to have a quick look and get a couple of pics as it departed for Manchester at 15:59. It was no 170302, so the same unit photographed at Woodlesford. I guess maybe that's the first one?
It was coupled to the rear of a 158 unit and I don't think the 170 was in service.

Not great quality I'm afraid, taken quickly on my mobile.
Nice photos JsT. You should have an email from me through fotopic.net in relation to one of them. You did a lot better job that me with my camera phone!
I also see you've had a ride on one of them. How would you rate them?
Also, any idea what diagrams they'll be on tomorrow?
