Hi everyone

Tottenham Hale had extensive work done with a new station entrance twinned with LU and a new high capacity footbridge and a new escalator and lift/step free access.

But right now it doesn’t seem finished.

The footbridge leads to a back area that makes the journey much longer and feels like a second thought. The gate line at the end of the footbridge is always closed unless they do the very unpopular ticket checks and funnel everyone through this.

95% passengers use the original footbridge so what is the point of the new one.

It looks like the gate line at the end of the footbridge should be extended to the main building but hasn’t happened yet.

I’m sure there were plans to remove the old footbridge and create an access to the road bridge adjacent.

All seems a bit of a waste of time putting the footbridge in!

Yep the route is a lot longer than it was before, backward step for Southbound connection from rail to tube

To be honest, I was hoping the station's redo would be been better... the new platform and station entrance are... fine at best. However, the new footbridge serves no use anymore and the station really does need a redo from fresh.

I went off looking for plans a while ago and it seems the original plan submitted for planning permission back in 2013 was for the footbridge to be built closer to the station building and steps/esaclators would lead directly up from the side of the ticket hall onto it. Instead as the footbridge was built earlier and seperately there is no integration and we get overcrowding outside the waiting room space as the platform isn't wide enough for everyone to pass down.
