Thoughts for a name for the IEP Trains

Just wondering of people's thoughts of a name for the Cls 800/801 trains?

My idea to call them is Katana, due to its being fast, sleek and made in Japan

I also expect the nose covers to soon disappear when in service making an ugly train.

I'd argue that's more problematic than the suggestion RichmondCommu seemed to object to, but I appreciate both were made in good humour so I really don't see the need to get on one's high horse about comments on an Internet forum. I'd be shocked if any members of this forum of any age had never previously encountered any of the numerous colloquial terms for human waste.

I'm not really sure why that 'word' should be considered as being made in good humor. Surely we can all make light of something without having to resort to the use of swear words?

Just curious to know how you have reached the conclusion that they are useless plastic rubbish. Just out of curiosity who is Kerry Katona? Perhaps an ex girl friend?

I don't think there has been a single new MU that has not been trashed on here before it came on-stream. People just assume the worst, and then refuse to admit they could have been wrong about it.

Frankly, they look like they'll be pretty decent trains.

Pretty sure this discussion has been done to death, with the PFI total cost not being comparable to a standard price for numerous reasons.

No but if they were on the same level as the glorious HSTs then IEPs would've been praised since when they were just a thought, just like the HSTs were.

What? HSTs were hated by enthusiasts at first?! No way...

You will only find out how good the IEP/SET trains by riding on them once they have come into service.

I remember people trashing the HST's before they came into service, then after riding on an HST service where saying how good a train that has been built.

Anyway, back on topic with regards naming the IEP trains.
