We would love to stay longer and admire this pretty Cotswold village, however the sparse bus service means this isn't practical. Therefore, observing the minimum connecting time we board the 11:45 Pulhams Coaches 855 service to Cirencester, Corn Hall (on Market Place) arriving at 12:32 on Tuesday afternoon.

We snatch some lunch and continue on Pulhams 853 service at 1300, travelling to Brimpsfield War Memorial, arriving at 1336 Tuesday afternoon.

It was at the village hall - the crossroads is timed a minute earlier. apologies for any confusion

Yet another settlement with a cunning plan to offer no onward services in the early afternoon to ensure any unaware passenger disembarking there has to spend both some time and money in the local establishments until the next bus arrives, so we resign ourselves to following the strictures ensuing from this quaint local custom and pass the time away until it is time to board the 1628 Pulhams Coaches service 852 to Stratton (opposite The Plough) that arrives at 1652 on Tuesday afternoon.

Without time for a pint, we make a note to one day return here, and so we head to the stop for travel in the direction we came from and board the 17:04 Pulhams coaches service 852 to Gloucester (Market Parade) arriving there at 18:03 Tuesday Afternoon

Whilst there are plenty of buses leaving the Promenade during the evening, the variety of destinations is rather limited. Basically Gloucester.

We decide to take the 98 Stagecoach service at 1930 and get off at the intermediate stop of Churchdown opp Bat and Ball at 1947 Tuesday evening.

Sorry Paul I cannot identify the service you have just travelled on either on Stagecoach .pdf timetable or Traveline Southwest

Complicated by Tuesday being Christmas eve and services shutting down early - but even using the normal timetable as I believe we should there's no 98 departure at that time.

I appeared to have taken regard of a very old timetable, so I have "struck-through" the posting in question.

Timetables

You should use the current timetable for the relevant day not including timetable variations for engineering works. You may use regular timetabled services which you even if boarding is only possible subject to availability (including National Express coach, the Caledonian sleeper and the Jacobite steam train but not railtours)..... On 25/26 December this game considers a full timetable for the relevant day to be in use.

I have posted this extract from the quiz rules that covers services on those two particular "quiz days", which should cover any timetable queries raised.

To clarify, there is no early close down on 24 December in this game. A normal Tuesday timetable applies since 25 and 26 December are considered normal days.

Resume posting....To replace the "struck-through" posting

We next board the 2037 Stagecoach in Gloucester service 98 to Gloucester bus station that arrives there at 2102 on Tuesday evening.

We decide, perhaps unwisely, on a trip into the Forest (terrible things happen there) on Stagecoach in Gloucester's 24A departure at 2120, travelling to Cinderford Coop, arriving at 2211 Tuesday evening

We continue at 0932 on the next Stagecoach in Gloucester 41 service and travel to Ashchurch Ashchurch station turn, arriving at 0939 Wednesday morning

Sorry - need to correct that

There's an earlier 42 service at 0917 over the same route arriving at 0924

My previous posting has been amdended...thanks for your locally-inspired knowledge.

A new follow-on posting can be made.

Sorry Paul - I've got myself thoroughly confused - as well as you. Your original move if I recall it correctly was fine. It was my correction to my move that went badly wrong

We are in fact at Ashchurch station turn and it's 0939, having left your arrival stop (0932) at 0937 when the previous 41 bus came back from its circuit round the housing estates. I hate these circular routes

It's your (or someone else's) move

Tries and fails to inset embarrassed smilie

My original posting is now reverted back to what was there originally. I must confess that I assumed that you were making a somewhat gentle reminder regarding the wording of my posting when I read your following posting.

However, as my posting shows an arrival time of 0937, the next posting that makes an allowance for a 5 minute connection time cannot depart until 0942 or later

We change service operator and board the 0920 Stagecoach in Gloucester service 41 to Northway (Steward Road) that arrives there at 0937 on Wednesday morning.

This is the posting that the quiz should continue from.

OK - that makes me 15 minutes later on the 42 departure at 0952 to Ashchurch station turn arriving at 0954 Wednesday morning

Got it - you went right round the loop at the end of the route before getting off
