Fortunately, the 592 is one of the better services in the area that runs for much of the day on its circular routing, so we next board the 2213 Western Greyhound service 592 to Crantock (Halwyn Road) that arrives there at 2229 on Thursday evening.

Luckily we don't have that long to wait...the extra evening service has been running since May.

We board the 22:53 Western Greyhound 591 service and travel to its terminus Perranporth (Beach Road) arriving at 23:29 on Thursday.

We take the (anti-clockwise) 2354 Western Greyhound service 592 to Newquay bus station that arrives there at 0048 on Friday morning.

With no further chance of an onward journey we settle down for the night, as best as possible.

We catch an early bus out of town to do some plane spotting. The 06:05 Western Greyhound 556 service conveys us to Newquay Airport, also known as St Mawgan, arriving at 06:26 on Friday morning.

There being a three-hour wait to proceed northwards along the coast at this very early hour of the morning, our only option after indulging our plane viewing was to board the first southwards journey, so we board the 0805 Western Greyhound service 556 to Whipsiderry (Trevelogue Turn) that arrives there at the still-early time of 0818 on Friday morning

We decide it is time we left the Newquay area for further afield. We continue by boarding the 08:42 Western Greyhound 556 service to Trevarrian (Travellers Inn) arriving at 08:52 on Friday morning.

We keep heading northwards in this area and board the 0922 Western Greyhound service 556 to Padstow bus terminus that arrives there at 1023 on Friday morning.

We now board the 1030 Western Greyhound 555 service to Bodmin Parkway railway station arriving at 1125 on Friday.

We decide to proceed onwards by rail as our chosen mode of travel and board the 1157 FGW service to Truro that arrives there at 1233 on Friday afternoon.

We could take a small diversion along the Falmouth branch, but instead decide to wait for the next service on the main line. We board the 13:32 FGW service to Plymouth arriving at 14:51 on Friday afternoon.

We bid adieu to the South West and board the 1524 XC service to Sheffield that arrives there at 2019 on Friday evening.

Local knowledge of railway stations with a bus stop immediately situated outside is a wonderful thing, so we depart from the railway station to the bus stop on the other side of the main road and board the 2356 Stagecoach Manchester service 330 to Ashton-under-Lyne bus station that arrives there at 0024 on Saturday morning.

An overnight break is then required for our next service, the 06:33 First Manchester route 350 to Top Mossley, Stamford Road/Egerton Road, arriving 06:46 on Saturday morning,

We decide to continue our voyage through the more rural parts of the area and board the 0716 First Manchester service 350 to Wall Hill (Oldham Road/Wall Hill Road) that arrives there at 0744 on Saturday morning.

We carry on on our somewhat delayed journey towards Oldham, by taking the 08:14 First Manchester route 350 to Greenacres, Greenacres Road/Hill St., arriving 08:24 on Saturday

We cross over the road to the bus stop there and board the 0853 First Pioneer service 350 to Dobcross (The Woolpack on Dobcross New Road) that arrives there at 0918 on Saturday morning.

We don't have too long to wait for our next bus. We take the 09:33 First Manchester 184 service to Oldham (Central Bus Station) arriving 10:07 on Saturday morning.

Noting the 5-minute connection time ruling, we decide to take a run out to a hillside settlement area and board the 1109 Stott's Tours service 407 to Denshaw (Dumfries Avenue) that arrives there at 1135 on Saturday morning.

As the bus just goes round in a loop we note that we are unable, time wise, to catch the service on its return. Therefore we wile away an hour in this settlement until the next bus.

We catch the 12:37 Stott's Tours 407 service as far as Oldham Mumps (Mumps Bridge) arriving at 12:57 on Saturday.

We sadly note that the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway-built rail bridge at Oldham Mumps was demolished as part of the Manchester Metrolink expansion system, but we are on the right side of the road for the Manchester Metrolink stop which we use to board the 1312 Manchester Metrolink service to East Didsbury Metrolink stop that arrives there at 1405 on Saturday afternoon.

Heading back into the City Centre on the next available departure sees us boarding the 14:13 Manchester Metrolink tram to St Peter's Square stop, arriving at 14:38 on Saturday

We stay with the Metrolink system as our chosen mode of travel and board the 1451 Manchester Metrolink service to Heaton Park Metrolink stop that arrives there at 1513 on Saturday afternoon.

We continue with a longer ride on the tram network by boarding the 15:22 Manchester Metrolink service to Droylesden arriving at 16:03 on Saturday afternoon.

We leave the tram at the current temporary terminal point and walk across to the bus stop where we board the 1611 Stagecoach Manchester service 216 to Ashton-under-Lyne bus station that arrives there at 1623 on Saturday afternoon.

We continue our omnibus tour of the area by joining the 16:46 Stagecoach Manchester 236 service to Glossop (Henry Street) arriving at 17:24 on Saturday afternoon.

Just a short time to wait before we board the 1735 High Peak service 64 to Rainow (Smithy Lane) that arrives there at 1825 on Saturday evening.

We scour the timetable for another service but are disappointed to find the 18:45 doesn't run on a Saturday.

However it seems a pleasant settlement and we take shelter for the night. We continue on the first, and seemingly only, bus of the day - the 09:03 High Peak service 60 to Macclesfield Railway Station arriving at 09:18 on Sunday morning.
