It would appear (and I say appear coz I can't find any at all though I haven't looked that hard) that there are no buses from the bus stop in question for getting on for 12 hours - I think the rules allow for a 2 hour wait after the first possible transport - in this case a train - otherwise whatever is going must be taken

The HOLD is to allow the absence of daytime buses to be verified
Looking at the departure board for the stop in question transportdirect.info website, it is indeed the case that there are no buses until 17:32 so I'm happy for us to RESUME now. Sorry for the delay here but I couldn't get transportdirect.info to show the next departures for a specific time in the future, the board seems to be based on the current time only so I had to wait until today to see that there were no buses running within 2 hours of arrival at the station.

We continue now by boarding the 0838 Arriva Trains Wales service to Radyr arriving at 0923 on Tuesday.

We take the 12:05 Arriva Trains Wales service to Stockport, having disgorged a lot of hot and sweaty passengers at earlier stations, at 14:58 on Tuesday

I can't find the service in question, the nearest departure from Buxton station seems to be the 1607 but I can't find your destination in the timetable.

There's a Travis Brow/Georges Road stop at 1721 in one version of the timetable

http://www.traveline-northwest.co.uk/timetableplanner/toggleMainStops.do?hss=zVx5I157405070 assuming it's not a dynamic link

The journey planner says you walk from Georges Road to Jn 1 - effectively just crossing the road

I was going off the times that are actually printed at each bus stop,, the one on Travis Brow I must have just mixed up with the fares stage for it (Stockport Junction) and the stop for services to Heaton Mersey. Sorry for the inconvenience :(

So, what is your actual move? Alight at Travis Bow/Georges Road at 1721 as dzug suggested above?

Train times are a little scant at this time of the evening, so whilst we wait we partake of the scenery of the Peak District.

All too soon though the evening air resounds to an approaching train, upon its arrival we board the 19:14 Northern service to Buxton arriving 19:24 on Tuesday.

We are in something of a quandary, as we cannot take the walk from this stop to the one at the Co-op where a later evening service still departs, so we just have to accept that from our stop, there will be rather a long wait until we board the first bus in the morning from there which appears to be the 0648 Trent Barton Sixes bus 6.1 to Debt bus station that arrives there at 0658 on Wednesday morning

The Chapel Street stop has an alternative name of 'opposite coop'.

So we can cross the road to be outside the coop should there be a service from there - as there is

I am indeed grateful for your most helpful clarification and have struck-
through the posting that I had made and will now replace it with....

We cross the road to be at the bus stop outside the Co-op and board the 2320 Trent Barton Sixes service 6.1 to Matlock (Bakewell Road) that arrives there at 0005 on Wednesday morning.

I think the rules allow me to make a replacement posting

We take a trip through some of the local area on board the 09:15 Stagecoach East Midlands 15 service to Walesby (Red Lion) arriving at 10:10 on Wednesday morning.
