We realise that London is not the place for us again so soon and decide to get well away from it with a trip to South Wales. We board the 12:45 FGW service to Swansea arriving at 15:43 on Thursday

We continue ever westwards on the 1600 ATW service to Whitland, arriving at 1705, Thursday evening

A quick check of the station information reveals no suitable bus services from the station. We therefore wait for the next train departure.

We continue our travels aboard the 17:46 ATW service, we seek out the guard and confirm that we wish to stop on request at Clarbeston Road to alight arriving 18:00 on Thursday.

We next make the next short journey by rail as the day is getting late and board the 1903 ATW service to Clarbeston Road that arrives there at 1922 on Thursday evening, where this train terminates.

We now have the opportunity to take the early morning run up the Heart of Wales line, with its numerous stations, so we board the 0453 ATW service to Church Stretton that arrives there at 0806 on Friday morning.

The timetable reveals how sparse the service is in this remote outpost. Still the tranquility and solitude are a world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We take a walk in the countryside to savour the grace and beauty of surroundings; however we are mindful not to be gone too long.

All too soon our flirt with the great outdoors is at an end as we find ourselves back on the platform we arrived at earlier requesting the 14:57 ATW service to stop for us. We travel on this train until Craven Arms arriving 16:40 on Friday.

We are still able to make an onward journey, all be it in the return direction. We board the 23:27 London Midland service to Worcester Shrub Hill, arriving at 23:44 Friday evening.

We are unable to join the next departure of the night due to the insufficient connection time so we settle down as best as possible until the early morning, as a variety of arrivals and empty stock movements ply their trade in the station area.

We are rudely interupted by the passing through of a steel train followed by a XC service that doesn't want to stop. Therefore we set off on the 05:44 LM service and alight at its terminus: Dorridge arriving 07:18 on Saturday morning

We decided to change both TOC and area, as we board the 0730 Chiltern Railways service to Haddenham & Thame Parkway that arrives there at 0829 on Saturday morning.

We retrace our route slightly and using the 08:40 Chiltern Railways service make a return visit to Kings Sutton arriving at 09:02 on Saturday morning.

We wait time at the station before boarding the 09:31 Chiltern Railways service which we take as far as Wembley Stadium, arriving at 10:49 Saturday morning.

We next board the 1124 Chiltern Railways service to Little Kimble that arrives there at 1211 on Saturday afternoon.

We then catch the Arriva Shires 300 bus outside the station and travel to Stoke Mandeville opp the Bull, arriving 1232 Saturday afternoon

We wait at the bus stop for the next onward bus and board the 1252 Arriva Shires service 300 to Aylesbury bus station that arrives there at 1306 on Saturday afternoon.
