I'm happy to defend it - the bus from Harboro goes (west) along Queen Street in Kettering, turns right into Horsemarket and stops. The bus to Raunds also goes west along Queen Street, but turns left at the same point and stops. Effectively a different arm of a cross roads.


Or are we saying that travel must depart from exactly the same stop in the same direction?

You can use a different stop serving the same location (in this case the Horse Market also known as Kettering Interchange) but you can't walk to a different location. Due to the time of the day, I will allow until 1000 for a new move to be submitted be dzug2 after which it becomes open floor.

OK to recommence from Kettering Interchange/Horsemarket at 1154 - we wait an hour, since we can't leave at the same time as we arrived, and catch Stagecoach in Bedford service 50 at 1254 and travel to Kettering opp Police station arriving at 1254, so we can arrive at the same time as we departed. Hey ho.

We decide to leave the area that is Kettering once we have taken a mid-day meal, then we return to the area to board the 1354 Stagecoach in Northants service 50 to Radwell (The Swan) that arrives there at 1502 on Tuesday afternoon.

Not long to wait before Stagecoach 830 service at 1528 takes us to Bedford (opp Chaucer Road) arriving at 1548 Tuesday afternoon

We next board the 1615 Stagecoach in Bedford service X5 to Bicester (Market Square) that arrives there at 1745 on Tuesday afternoon.

We catch Langton and Tasker's service 18 at 1800 and travel to Calvert o/s community hall, arriving at 1841 Tuesday evening

We have time to study the notice board at the community hall and note that the 2nd Tuesday of the month is Step-by-step ballroom dancing classes, and the 3rd Tuesday of the month is the local WI meeting. However both these events commence at 7.30pm and our next bus is shortly due.

We board the 19:44 Langton & Taskers 18 service which conveys us to Steeple Claydon (o/s The Fountain PH) arriving 19:52 on Tuesday evening.

We appear to now have arrived with no further option of onward travel for the day on either the service 16 or the service 18, so we have to seek overnight accommodation and the following morning, we are at the bus stop to board the 0630 Langdon & Tasker service 18 to Aylesbury bus station that arrives at 0710 on Wednesday morning.

We travel on the 07:18 Arriva bus service 300 to Little Kimble Station arriving 07:35 on Wednesday

We take the chance to return to the rails on Chiltern's 0751 departure for Princes Risborough, arriving at 0801 Wednesday morning

Another short journey by rail sees us board the 0820 Chiltern Railways service to High Wycombe that arrives there at 0828 on Wednesday morning.

As an aside I wonder if a transfer to the underground or central bus station would have been a valid move at Heathrow?

I believe it would be, as you would have been transfering from one service to another as long as the stop you transfer to serves the same place.

Not long to wait until the 14:55 Quality Line service 470 arrives. It conveys us to Morden Road (Tram Stop) arriving 16:04 on Wednesday

This offers the opportunity to ride on a light rail system, so we board the 1615 Croydon Tramlink to Croydon, Centrale that arrives there at 1631 on Wednesday afternoon.

We continue on the Croydon Tramlink 2 route at 1639, alighting at Blackhorse Lane at 1651, Wednesday afternoon

A run in the reverse direction sees us board the 1659 Croydon Tramlink service to Therapia Lane tram stop that arrives there at 1718 on Wednesday afternoon.

We make our way into the railway station and decide to make an onward visit to recreate the scene in the late-1950's as a keen trainspotter where we made our very first London area visit to a station with a very large number of platforms to see classes of steam locomotive in real life that had only been seen in photographs in our Combined locomotive book, so we wait for the service from Epsom Downs to arrive and we then board the 1817 Southern service to Clapham Junction that arrives there at 1849 on Wednesday evening.

We decide to head for the country on the 1927 SWT service, finally bailing out at Pinhoe at 2234 Wednesday evening

Still time to make an onward rail journey, so we board the 2306 SWT service to Salisbury that arrives there at 0113 on Thursday morning.

We depart again on an early train - the 0535 SWT departure - which does a circuit via Chandlers Ford and Millbrook and brings us right back to Salisbury at 0707 Thursday morning
