Are there? That is the first Anglian bus service on that route, I didn't know if there were any other buses which served the same place.

Looking at the times, it would seems the name of the stop you were left at was Great Yarmouth opp Rumbold Arms. The 586 doesn't even seem to serve this stop.

Being able to continue we see no remaining part of the old Southtown station...so join the 09:34 Anglian Bus service 601 and alight at Normanston (adj Fire Station) arriving 10:04 on Monday

We then continue on the 10:24 Anglian bus 601 departure which we take as far as Lowestoft (Bus Station, on Gordon Road) arriving there at 10:30 Monday morning.

The bus left the stop named adj Southtown Road at 0934 but this is on Bridge Street. However looking at the timetable it does also serve the stop where I believe the previous move left you (opp Rumbold Arms which is on Southtown Road) four minutes later so I'm happy to accept that you boarded the bus from this stop at 0938. No hold required.

Okay, we then take the 0838 Anglian Buses X47 service to Great Yarmouth (Southtown Road (for Yarmouth Coll)) arriving there at 0925 this Monday morning.

We also face up to the sad occasion of leaving Norwich...

Transportdirect was a bit vague on the whereabouts of the stops - especially that specified as the arrival stop for Yarmouth College, which seems to be in Suffolk Road, Southtown; yet the following posting (then ruled invalid) was from adj Rumbold Arms which is a good 10 minutes walk difference. However so as not to spoil things i'll let this pass. In future it would help if arrival locations were clearly specified - that way todays travails might have prgressed more smoothly.

I believe there are no buses direct from the bus station to the railway station in Beccles, and so I believe it is ok to make the short walk down the hill to the railway station where we board the 11:25 GA service to Ipswich arriving there at 12:36 Monday Morning

The X47 however does not go via Suffolk Road. The only stop that matches the time of arrival (0925) and could be considered as the stop on the X47 route for Yarmouth College on the route is opp Rumbold Arms.

Desperate to move away from the slough of despond that travel in this part of East Anglia appears to cause sees us board the 1252 GA service to Chelmsford that arrives there at 1340 on Monday afternoon.

Unfortunately it isn't. You may only change to rail from the bus stop serving the station. If there are no buses to the railway station then you can't go there. We remain at Beccles (Old Market) at 11:14 on Monday.

The last 72 hours on this quiz has seen more problems than in a period of very many months that have preceded it.

The sooner that a contestant finds a valid route to escape from this part of East Anglia...and the Norwich region in particular...the better it will be for all concerned.

No, if there isn't a bus route serving the station then you can't change mode.

It was never my intention when I created this game for walking to be allowed other than to a stop serving the same location. I did tolerate it for some time but recently there have been quite a few disagreements on if certain walks should be allowed or not so I have now set an official policy based on the original plan for the game.

We then board the 11:30 Anglian Bus service no 522 to Halesworth (Opp Wisset Road, On Norwich road) Arriving there at 12:06 Monday Afternoon (Although it looks like we may have to come back on this bus route later)

We then board the 13:50 First in Norfolk and Suffolk 25A service to Norwich Railway Station (Station Forecourt) arriving there at 14:05 Monday Afternoon

On this rare occasion, I have decided I want to leave Norwich, so we board the 1457 East Midlands Trains service to Liverpool South Parkway arriving there 2016 Monday evening.

We look at the departures board, and realising a -1 connection is just not possible, wrap up warm and await the 20:44 London Midland service to Birmingham New Street arriving there at 22:17 Monday Evening

We look to our onward rail options to look for any journey that does not bring us anywhere remotely near to East Anglia and finding one that will take us even further in a westward direction, we board the 2255 ATW service to Llandudno Junction that arrives there at 0128 on Tuesday morning.

We find ourselves on the desolate platforms at Llandudno Junction for the night so try and settle down as best as possible until the first departure of the day. We join the 04:38 Arriva Wales service to Shotton (Low Level) arriving at 05:21 on Tuesday morning

We scan the departure boards and find there is a service through to the capital city of Norfolk...however we decide against this and fancy a trip south. Joining the 08:27 XC service to Brockenhurst arriving 12:56 on Tuesday

Has the recent dalliance with omnibus provision in the Norwich city area and other parts of East Anglia area been the downfall of the regular postings that used this mode of travel when used in conjunction with rail travel...:cry:

We next make the short journey onwards by boarding the 1315 SWT service to Southampton Central that arrives there at 1328 on Tuesday afternoon.

Undoubtedly the problems caused by omnibus travel is due to the ability to get to more destinations...something that wouldn't have occurred pre-Beeching
