We are pleased to have a chance to see what Welshpool has to offer in the way of a cooked breakfast find there is plenty of time to spare whilst we eat it at our leisure before returning to the railway station for our onward connection and we board the 0949 ATW service to Aberystwyth that arrives there at 1125 on Monday morning.

Like as if by magic, my posting has suddenly provided a full breakfast opportunity whilst the two hour break is completed and a different arrival time is now scheduled. The quiz can now proceed with the new arrival time in the amended posting.

We find there's an Arriva X32 TrawsCambria bus at 1145 to Bangor. We take it, and get off at Caernarfon bus station at 1445, Monday afternoon

And now a journey I have made in real life countless times....

We wait in the old-style shelters until it is time to board the 1515 Arriva Cymru service X5 to Llandudno (Conway Road) that arrives there at 1643 on Monday afternoon.

We wonder around the corner to the bus stop on Park Avenue and realise we have a TrawsCambria service at 1200 to Carmarthen Railway Station arriving at 1356 Monday afternoon

We catch the Express Motors X1 bus leaving at 1740 and arriving in Blaenau Ffestiniog at 1848 Monday evening

As it leaves from opposite Wetherspoons we have time for a quick meal and a pint while waiting

Not too much time to do anything at this time, except to wait for and board the 1911 Express Motors service 1 B to Maentwrdg that arrives at the stop on the A487 (Capel Maentwrdg) at 1925 on Monday evening.

We stroll the few hundred yards to the Oakeley Arms at Tan-y-Bwlch for refreshment before continuing on the next bus (2040) on the same service to Porthmadog Parc A, arriving at 2053 Monday evening

We have an early night in Porthmadog before returning to the Parc for the 0900 Sherpa S97 to Pen y Pass YHA arriving at 0938, Tuesday morning.

We connect into the Sherpa S2 to Llanrwst Watling Streetdeparting at 0945 and arriving 1055, Tuesday

Then we've not long to wait for the 1120 Arriva 19 service to
Conwy [Townditch], arriving at 1157, Tuesday lunchtime.

We have time to catch the 1219 ATW train to Smethwick Galton Bridge, arriving 1521 Tuesday afternoon

A change of train and TOC sees us make the short journey on the 1540 LM service to Birmingham New Street that arrives at 1547 on Tuesday afternoon.

Let's get the 1612 XC service to Par, arriving at 2035, Tuesday evening

After that long journey we decide to go into one of the local pubs for a few beers and some food and arrive in plenty of time for the 2254 FGW sleeper, alighting at Reading at 0400 Wednesday morning

We find there is an onward connection that is coming in from Oxford in a short period of time at that unearthly hour of the day, so we board the 0439 FGW service to London Paddington that arrives there at 0541 on Wednesday morning.

We go to the Bakerloo line platforms and get the 0545 service to Marylebone arriving just 3 minutes later, at 0548 Wednesday morning

The first train out is at 0600 to Aylesbury via High Wycombe. We take it, arriving at 0712, Wednesday morning

We get a coffee to wake us up and go to the bus station and board the Arriva 500 service at 0732 to Kings Langley High Street arriving at 0902 Wednesday morning

We walk through to the Ovaltine Works and catch Arriva bus 550 at 0921 arriving at Glenhaven Avenue for Elstree and Borehamwood station at 1022, Wednesday morning

We walk into the station and board the 1038 FCC service to West Hampstead Thameslink arriving 1054 Wednesday morning

Time for a hot drink before we board the 1130 FCC service to Farringdon that arrives at 1153 on Wednesday morning.

A good connection sees us getting the 1155 Hammersmith & City to Bow Road arriving 1212 Wednesday lunchtime

We decide to sample the travel on another one of the London Underground lines so we board the 1220 District Line service to Upminster underground station that arrives there at 1253 on Wednesday afternoon.

Now from Upminster on the 1303 248 Stagecoach London bus to Romford Station arriving at 1324 on Wednesday.

In this game you must travel from the station or stop where the previous post left you. No getting back on the same service you have just left. You must use a real timetabled public transport service although this can be train, bus, London Underground, tram or other light rail. You may also used water based transport as long as it's a timetabled public transport service.

Bury St Edmunds is well worth some sightseeing in the time we have to wait for our next direct onwards connection and we take afternoon tea there, before returning to the railway station to board the 1825 GA service to Peterborough that arrives there at 1938 on Wednesday evening.
