We then take a leisurely walk up to the mainline station and board the 1110 Virgin Trains service to Crewe arriving 1247 Wednesday afternoon

After grabbing a quick lunch, we board the 13:09 Virgin Trains service to Preston, arriving at 13:51! Say, there's a local bus from outside that goes to my house (and isn't the 31 either :P)

We decide to see the area that once had electric trains running northwards of Southport and just outside the railway station, with not much time to spare, we board the 1409 Stagecoach in Lancashire service 2X to Crossens (Preston New Road) that arrives there at 1438 on Wednesday afternoon.

At Crossens we catch an Arriva 44 bus to Formby Duke Street departing at 1456 and arriving at 1548. It's still Wednesday

We decide to see what Formby has to offer in the way of a hot snack and a drink, before making our way to the bus stop where we board the 1628 Arriva service 47 to Liverpool (Whitechapel..stand GB) that arrives there at 1710 on Wednesday afternoon.

We decide we had enough of buses for a while and want a train so we walk to Lime Street and we see the 1748 to Stafford which arrives at 1835 Wednesday evening

Time for a longer train ride on the 1902 XC departure to Plymouth, arriving at 2314, Wednesday evening

Luckily we realised we was going to Plymouth as we had a sleeper berth booked for us to London Paddington leaving at 2351 Wednesday evening and arriving in London at 0525 Thursday morning

Time to use the Tube with other early morning commuters, so we join them on the 0538 Bakerloo Line service to London Marylebone that arrives there at 0600 on Thursday morning.

Let's get the 453 bus from Great Central Street at 0613 and ride all the way to Deptford Bridge station, arriving at 0706 , Thursday morning

That last excellent bus service connection enables us to board the 0710 Docklands Light Railway service to Lewisham railway station that arrives at 0720 on Thursday morning

continuing by train, we catch the 0744 South Eastern service to Elmers End, arriving 0758 Wednes no Thursday morning

We wonder if a ride on the Croydon Tramlink might appeal at some time to us when there will be less commuters, but we want to see the terminal railway station on this branch line, being one that we have never visited, so we wait a short while before boarding the 0816 Southeastern service to Hayes that arrives there at 0825 on Thursday morning.

We continue at 0830 by bus(119) to Croydon Airport (Collonades) arriving at 0922, Thursday morning

A change of bus route sees us board the 0937 Arriva London service 289 to Purley railway station that arrives at 0947 on Thursday morning.

We continue on the 0952 Southern train to Caterham, arriving at 1005, Thursday mrning

We decide to have a mid-morning snack and we note that there is a bus service which runs from outside the railway station, so, suitably refreshed, we board the 1126 Metrobus service 540 to Oxted (Gresham Road) that arrives there at 1153 on Thursday morning.

We stroll to the station for the 1237 train to Uckfield arriving at 1321, Thursday afternoon

Again we find ourselves at a terminal station, but past experiance tells us to walk to the nearby bus stop, where we wait for only a matter of a few minutes before we board the 1335 Brighton and Hove Bus service 29 to Brighton (Old Steine) that arrives there at 1431 on Thursday afternoon.

We then get the coastway service to Portsmouth Harbour, departing at 1503 and arriving at 1626 Thursday afternoon

We carefully note the ▼ in the notes against the train before boarding, and make use of the station facilities

We travel with Southern to Portsmouth & Southsea station, at 1629, arriving at 1632 that Thursday afternoon.

After that last "short-hop" journer, we decide to take a somewhat longer rail journey, so after a snack and a drink, we board the 1727 FGW service to Cardiff Central that arrives at 2043 on Thursday evening.

We then decide to another FGW service, this time the 2054 to Swansea arriving 2149 Thursday evening

We then catch an ATW train, at 2227, which eventually deposits us at Milford Haven at 0022 on Friday morning

We book into a small hotel and order an early morning alarm call and a full Welsh breakfast, then suitably refreshed we walk to the bus stop near the Tesco store and board the 0820 Edwards Bros service 315 to Haverfordwest bus station that arrives at 0845 on Friday morning.

We catch the 0920 National Express 508 coach to London, getting off at Earls Court Tesco in West Cromwell Road at 1700, it being a Friday

We walk to the Tube station and board the 1725 District Line service to Victoria underground station that arrives at 1734 on Friday afternoon.

And back to Portsmouth Harbour we go on the 1802 Southern service, arriving at 2007, Friday evening

Wait 3 weeks then get the 2015 swt to portsmouth and southsea arriving 2018 Friday

In this game you must travel from the station or stop where the previous post left you. No getting back on the same service you have just left. You must use a real timetabled public transport service although this can be train, bus, London Underground, tram or other light rail. You may also used water based transport as long as it's a timetabled public transport service. No cars, taxis, motorbikes, planes or helicopters. You must not leave the island of Great Britain.

You must leave the station where the previous post left you within a reasonable amount of time (not staying there from Friday evening to Monday morning just so you can get a weekdays only working) although you may remain on a station overnight until the start of service the next day.

I think that posting a journey with a three-week wait is most certainly invalidated by an extract from the rules of the quiz above.
