We make our way into the railway station and just have time to board the 0948 SWT service to Guildford that arrives at 1032 on Monday morning.

After seeing a brawl on the station, we board the 09:54 FGW from Gatwick to Reading, we arrive at 10:23 that monday. Knowing this is Reading, it's expected that some idiot's doing stunts at the station. Watch out!

Hang on, there's a time or place or both wrong somewhere........

Anyhow, assuming we are at Reading and have never been to Gatwick, we get the 1052 train to Malvern Link, arriving at 1258, Monday, making sure to travel in the front part of the train so we have some platform to alight from..

We do not have all that many altercations to report on this quiz and it would be better not to make any future mention of them, please....hock:

A change of transport attracts us, so we walk to the bus stop opposite to the Co-op store on Worcester Road where we board the 1325 First Midlands Red Bus service 44 C to Worcester Crowngate Bus Station that arrives at 1353 on Monday afternoon.

We continue retracing our steps by bus, this time on the 551 First service departing at 1405 to Pershore Broad Street arriving at 1440 Monday

Pershore is a pleasant market town and we decide to take afternoon tea there before making our way to the railway station and its single platform where we board the 1613 FGW service to Oxford that arrives there at 1724 on Monday afternoon.

We make our way to St Giles and catch the 853 Swanbrook bus at 1800 travelling to Churchdown Hare and Hounds arriving at 1935 (by request to the driver)

Oh - still Monday, sorry

What an excellent connection that was and we only need to wait at the same bus stop for a short time, before we board the 1955 Stagecoach in Gloucester service 94 to Gloucester, at the stop opposite to the bus station, that arrives at 2012 on Monday evening.

That leaves us time for a meal and a pint in Wetherspoons (a converted cinema) before crossing the inner ring road to the station to catch the 2134 FGW departure to Ashchurch for Tewkesbury arriving at 2153 Monday evening

We are fortunate that we do not have long to wait at this time of night for our onward connection and we board the 2223 XC service to Birmingham New Street that arrives at 2336 on Monday night.

Wishing to avoid the delights of Holly Hill we catch the 2353 LM departure to Coventry, arriving 0015 Tuesday morning

Amazed to find there are still services running, we wait for less than an hour to board the 0113 Virgin Trains service to Birmingham New Street that arrives there at 0136 on Tuesday morning.

Note the use of a different TOC to make this return journey

We make our way to the coach station and get the 210 National Express departure at 0245 getting off at Gatwick north terminal at 0620 Tuesday

Time to absorb the atmosphere of a large airport and to have something to eat and drink then we make our way to the airport railway station where we board the 0758 FGW service to Reading that arrives at 0917 on Tuesday morning.

So taken were we with the delights of Pershore yesterday that we make our way back there, leaving at 0952 with FGW and arriving at 1121, Tuesday

Indeed it was worth returning to Pershore to see some of the sights we missed yesterday and we return to the railway station to board the 1232 FGW service to Hereford that arrives at 1348 on Tuesday afternoon.

Not long to wait for our ATW connection to Shrewsbury, we arrive at 14:50 that Tuesday afternoon.

We just miss our connection, so we wander round Shrewsbury in search of a late lunch, comeing back for the 15:47 London Midland service to Albrighton, arriving 16:21 Tuesday

After a bit of exploring, we board the 17:22 London Midland service to Wolverhampton, arriving at 17:36 that Tuesday pre-evening.

We take the 17:54 National Express West Midlands route 126 to Bearwood Interchange, arriving 18:59

We spend some time watching the buses come and go before we board the 2005 NXWM service 82 to Birmingham New Street railway station that arrives at 2028 on Tuesday night

We get the 2042 XC service to Cheltenham Spa, arriving at 2125, Tuesday night

We have time for a snack and a hot drink, before boarding the 2207 FGW service to Bristol Temple Meads that arrives there at 2319 on Tuesday night.

We make our way slowly to the coach station and get the 201 National Express at 0250 to Gatw.... no Heathrow Airport Terminal 4, arriving at 0615 Wednesday morning

Time to sample an offering of the tube system, so we board the 0623 Piccadilly Line service to Green Park underground station, that arrives at 0714 on Wednesday morning.

We then get the 38 bus (a Borisbus maybe?) to Dalston Junction, Dalston Lane, arriving at 0800 (-ish two different sources give slightly different times) on Wednesday morning

We join with the commuters at the railway station and board the 0825 LO service to West Croydon that arrives at 0912 on Wednesday morning.

...and the Heathrow post is why we should allow planes.

We head back up on the 09:28 Southern to Battersea Park, arriving at 09:53 that Wednesday morning.

Let us head for a London main station now and we are fortunate to have plenty of time to board the 1015 Southern service to London Bridge that arrives at 1036 on Wednesday morning.

We run for the 10:40 Northern Line 1995 Stock to Euston, we arrive at 10:52 on Wednesday morning.
