We walk the 8 minutes (0.4 miles) to Cable Street and get the 1940 Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire service 555 to Bowness-on-Windermere (Bowness Pier), arriving at 2129 Thursday evening.

Time for some supper then from the Tourist Information Centre bus stop we take the 23.21 Stagecoach C&NL service 6 to Barrow in Furness, Town Hall arriving at 00.29 on Friday.

Unfortunately we got there too late for any of the boats, but I can still get us onto an island even if it is by bus not going on a boat.

Unfortunately despite being a tiny station, St Bees still has a 5 minute minimum connection time, so that prohibits us (by one minute short) of boarding the 1133 to Lancaster. Feeling that it's time to move away from the Cumbrian Coast, we therefore have a bit of a wait now until the 1227 Northern service 2C51 to Carlisle, arriving there at 1341 on Friday.
