Google seems to be wanting to go the long way around, satellite imagery suggests there is a footpath that's it's not quite fully connected to the map somewhere, I've (crudely) done it manually, and got 0.5 miles taking that more direct route

Thanks, happy to continue in the interests of keeping the game going but would be useful to get the opinion of @transportphoto for future reference in relation to the following from the rules:

"Likewise, we have chosen to allow walking between modes of transport in the same vicinity, in this case up to half a mile is permitted. Walking does not count as a move. Please do not abuse this, we have drawn a line at half a mile, which is quite a distance"

Leaving the station, we walk to the adjacent bus stop and there board the 1733 Community First Wessex service 44 to Eastleigh (the bus stop outside Hampshire Fire Service HQ on Leigh Road) that arrives there at 1807 on Wednesday.

Well this is rather problematic because that's it for the rest of the day and I'm struggling to find any other bus routes within a 0.5 mile radius annoyingly despite the proximity to the town centre, so we'll have to set up camp here and return in the morning for the 0830 Community First Wessex service 44 to Eastleigh (Coach Stop), arriving there at 0835 on Thursday.
