bustimes.org is my source once again, as it seems more correct in its timetabling than the other one I recently used, but obviously not in geographical terms. Thank God they don't manufacture compasses...

That bus must have had a driver not used to the route of the 111 bus service, which goes nowhere near to Wythenshawe
The 111 runs from Manchester Piccadilly Gardens to Chorlton, via Moss Side and Withington.

Portway in Wythenshawe ia a very long road serving the Woodhouse Park area with many bus stops. Bus service 11 meets it at its junction with Ruddpark Road, next to the very large St Anthony's church, then traverses its long route until it meets the junction with Simonsway, close by the M56 motorway.
I did make a very recent posting on that very road, but did qualify the location of the bus stop as being "opposite Oatlands Road on Portway".

I do not use the smart phone map that you show. Can I refer you to the bustimes.org actual bus timetable for the 42B service which clearly states the stop as being Rusholme, Platt Lane.
Not so long ago in responce to a raised query, a contributor did state which organisation it was from whom bustimes.org obtains their bus stop geographical locations

Rusholme, Platt Lane is at the east end of Platt Lane, on Wilmslow Rd
Fallowfield, Platt Lane is at the west end of Platt Lane, on Princess Rd
We arrived on the 42B at Rusholme Platt Lane, therefore the southbound move on the 111, amended (not...) to the 11, which I believe should in fact have been the 101, departing from Fallowfield, Platt Lane, is incorrect.
I believe that we remain at Rusholme, Platt Lane, having arrived at 2037 on Saturday on the 42B.

The Portway stop on the 11 (now irrelevant) is at the end of Portway on Simonsway. Any stop on Portway itself would have the stop name as Oatlands Road etc.
Yes, I was going to say it was most confusing because both stops are called Platt Lane.
