Good move that one to open up some other possibilities without returning to the City Centre, we join the always busy Centrebus Hospital Hopper, the 1739 departure to Nether Hall, Havencrest Drive arriving at 1810 on Wednesday.

Indeed. I find Leicester's bus network very radial. City Centre to A and back, then city centre to B and back, with not a lot of opportunity to change along the routes onto other services.

Anyway, plodding along, we next board the 1817 First Leicester service 38A to New Humberstone (Exton Road), arriving there at 1842 on Wednesday evening.

I can only apologise for the part I manage!
The market is fairly fragmented although the Orbital service and Hospital Hopper both cover large ground, and some of the routes (eg 47/48 in the south of the city) pick up multiple areas with points like Wigston acting as small interchanges.

Unfortunately we just miss the last 747 of the day which would have given us a longer run out, so we'll carry on with the 1912 Arriva Midlands service 37 to Thurnby Lodge, Chater Close arriving at 1924 on Wednesday.
