We then take advantage of the overnight rule and wait for the 0551 Stagecoach South West 1 to Tavistock bus station where we arrive at 0623 on Friday.

Relieved that the bus connects perfectly with the train, we enter the station and board the 0746 Great Western Railway service 2G74 to Devonport, arriving there at 0806 on Friday morning.

Our only option at this gorgeous village is to return on the next available The Mousehole, First South West service MOUS. Due to the unique road access here, we are guaranteed the same vehicle on the next departure, so we depart at 1034, alighting at Newlyn Bridge at 1043 on Friday.

Sadly, we've just missed the two-hourly Lands End Coaster, so we'll have to return on the 1058 First Kernow Mousehole service to Penzance (Bus Station), arriving there at 1107 on Friday morning.

Indeed - poor spelling on my part.

At Helston we'll wait until 1340 when we board the OTS service 35A to Falmouth arriving at Falmouth The Moor at 1422 Friday afternoon.

Only the U1A here providing any sort of useful service, so we'll attempt to find somewhere to grab something to eat and continue an hour later heading northwards on the 1718 First Kernow Coast to Coast service U1A to Newquay (Burger King), arriving there at 1802 on Friday evening.

Let's cross Cliff Road to the Great Western Hotel bus stop (2 min walk) and board Go Cornwall Bus service 25 at 1833. We cross back towards the south coast again, alighting at Polmear (Ship Inn) at 2008 on Friday evening, the closest we can feasibly get to the western portal of Pinnock Tunnel, formerly on the railway line between Fowey and St Blazey, now a privately owned road tunnel to Par Docks!

Well that's us buggered for the rest of the night now, despite us being so close to Par, so we set up camp for the night and return in the morning for the 0612 Go Cornwall service 25 to Par (Railway Station), arriving there at 0617 on Saturday morning.

We exit the station and take the four minute walk to the bottom of Fore Street, where we board the 0735 Stagecoach South West service 2A to Plymouth (Royal Parade, Stop A11*), arriving there at 0753 on Saturday morning.

* Royal Parade has many bus stops and some may be over 0.5 miles from Stop A11!

Taking advantage of the fact that every single bus route serving central Plymouth serves Royal Parade, we board Plymouth Citybus service 35A at 0800 from stop A17 (3 min walk). We alight at Swilly Shops, now more widely known as North Prospect Shops, at 0814 on Saturday.

We're a bit limited here with just the 16 from what I can tell, so we take the seven minute/0.3 mile walk to North Prospect Primary School and board the 0847 Plymouth Citybus service 14 to Devonport (Chapel Street), arriving there at 0910 on Saturday morning.

We next walk 2 stops west along Glen Road to the Glenside Surgery stop (5 min / 0.3 mile) where we await Plymouth Citybus service 59 at 1137. Knowing that no other routes serve these remote villages, we alight in the dead-end that is Lee Moor village at the Lee Moor Clearview stop at 1209 on Saturday.

I just remember when this wasn't a dead end, but then the China Clay works expanded, and the road closed...

We next board the 1306 Plymouth Citybus service 59 to Plymouth (Royal Parade, Stop A13), arriving there at 1405 on Saturday afternoon.

We cross to stop A3 on the westbound carriageway (2 min walk), and there board Plymouth Citybus, t/a Go Cornwall Bus, on behalf of Transport for Cornwall, service 70A at 1500. We make sure we sit upstairs for the views (particularly at Whitsands) as we travel through to Cremyll (Ferry) where we alight at 1650 on Saturday.

Having travelled for nearly 2 hours, we are only just over a mile and a half from where we started :)

We walk up the Admiral's Hard to the similarly named bus stop on Cremyll St (up to 2 mins, depending on how long the height of the tide makes Admiral's Hard!) and catch Plymouth Citybus service 34 at 1711*. We alight at Peverell, Outland Rd (one of the many stops on Outland Rd; the one with that name by the junction of Weston Park Rd) at 1741 on Saturday.

* I'm assuming this is OK. It is less than 5 minutes, but easily achievable. If not, then we set back 30 minutes from here...
