I disappear for the day and find that we are just a few miles from home...

So, we take what may be our first jounrey on the new-ish First West of England metrobus service m4, departing (from memory, oh yes, I'm right 8-) ) at 1200. We alight at Stoke Gifford, Parkway North P&R at 1218 on Wednesday.

Now even closer to home, maybe we have time to nip home for a coffee 8-)

We'll allow a 10 minute walk to Bristol Parkway station ~0.3 mile and then we'll wait for the 1250 Great Western service to Worcester Foregate Street, which we'll take as far as Gloucester arriving at 1329 Wednesday afternoon.

Looking at Bustimes.org - I think you've got the route number wrong - looks like it's a 22 which arrives at that time, not a 23.

We'll wait until 1452 for the next 23 which is heading for Coleford and we'll take it to Lydney Bus Station arriving at 1513.

Indeed, I think they both share the same route though, so shouldn't make a difference to timings. Serves me right for skiving fron a Zoom meeting in work!!
Let's depart at 1532 on Chepstow Classic Buses service 791. We alight at Blakeney, Viney Hill Turn at 1555 on Wednesday.
We next board the 1611 Stagecoach West service 23 (I hope!) to Gloucester (Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum), arriving there at 1652 on Wednesday afternoon.

Good to know I'm not the only one - though in my case Teams rather than Zoom !

OK - as options from here are limited, we'll walk around the corner to Gloucester Docks (0.3m / 5 mins) and we'll then take the 1706 Stagecoach West service to Cheltenham arriving at Cheltenham Promenade at 1805 Wednesday evening.

Arriving at this hour appears to leave the following options -

1= re-board the 51 and continue onto Swindon
2= take one of two National Express (the first of which is in 1 hour's time) that take us back to Gloucester
3= take the overnight at Cirencester

As it's relatively early, I'm going to propose we re-board the Stagecoach West 51 leaving at 2023 and continue onto Swindon Bus station arriving at 2125 Wednesday evening.

To be fair, @mangyiscute has added an extra hour. It's a 19:20 arrival into Cirencester so we'd have to wait another hour anyway which would be the 20:23.

Anyway, from Swindon, we next board the 2135 Swindon Bus Company service 17 to Park South (Whitbourne House), arriving there at 2144 on Wednesday evening.

I'm just predicting that the 18:30 was cancelled, since there's no chance our journey goes this cleanly (I in fact just can't read)

Finding ourselves hardly spoilt for choice, we board the next 17 at 2214 back to Swindon Bus Station arriving at 2230 Wednesday evening.

Deciding we don't wish to take the train again, we don't have too many options and choose to board the Stagecoach South West service 9 at 19:48 to Sidmouth Triangle where we arrive at 20:18 on Thursday evening
