A 6 min (0.3 mile) walk north takes us to the Accrington Rd stop on Accrington Rd (!), where service 7 departs at 2148 to take us to Accrington!
We arrive at Accrington, Bus Station at 2204 on Monday.

A period of shut-eye given the late hour and we'll set the alarm to wake us up to board the 0542 Northern Trains service to Carlisle, however we'll alight at Haltwhistle nice and early 0643 Tuesday morning.

I can't find that on here > https://bustimes.org/services/685-newcastle-eldon-square-hexham-bus-station?date=2023-05-10

Is there another timetable you've found ?

Ignore me - there are two timetables, one Stagecoach NE and one Stagecoach Cumbria..... why ? Who knows !

Unfortunately, having been at Haltwhistle, it was decided to take us back into the Newcastle region rather than a more interesting rural region.

Yeah - spotted it - I was confused by the 685 timetable (of which there are 2) - one of which doesn't have an early departure from Haltwhistle. The fact they're both Stagecoach timetables means it makes no sense why they're separate.

In my defence, I wasn't aware that said settlement was back in that region, otherwise I would have been a bit more imaginative (of which I am one of the few to be, under regular circumstances)....

How does one say Blucher? Bluker? Bloocher? Blucker?

Anyway, we are a bit limited here without retracing our steps west, so let's walk (7 min / 0.3 mile) to the Walbottle Rd / Hexham Rd stop on North Walbottle Rd, where at 0928 we board Stagecoach North East service 62. We alight at Killingworth Bus Station at 1047 on Tuesday.

We now decide to head towards the seaside and take the rather circuitous 11:17 Gateshead Central Taxis 335 service, but alight early at Cobalt Atmel Way at 12:09 on Tuesday

It looks as if the 306 goes into Haymarket bus station itself, which is on Percy Street, as opposed to outside. I could be wrong though!

Anyway, makes no difference to future moves, so we exit the station and take the six minute walk to the Monument stop H on Blackett Street, where we board the 1426 Stagecoach North East service 62 to North Walbottle (North Walbottle Road/Northumberland Gardens), arriving there at 1454 on Tuesday afternoon.

We transfer over to Park Lane Metro station (not Sunderland itself, despite the location of the bus interchange) and board the 2100 Tyne and Wear Metro Green Line service to Callerton Parkway, arriving there at 2153 on Tuesday evening.

Although an interchange time isn't published the distance between the two platforms, using Google Earth, is less than 100 metres, so a 3 minute interchange is eminently reasonable, on which basis we'll board the 2156 Metro Green Line service back to Newcastle where we'll alight at Newcastle Central Station at 2218 Tuesday evening.

As it's getting late, onward options are limited, so we'll take a break.

After which we walk to York Street (0.6m) in time to pick up the Megabus M35 service at 0410 heading towards Cardiff, however we'll alight at Bristol - Frenchay UWE East Gate at 1020 Wednesday morning.
