Agreed. There does seem to be a lot of 'doubling back' lately, as I've noticed with Greater Anglia, Penrith and Merseyside territory!

From Westgate, we take the nine minute walk to Gloucester Green bus station, where we board the 1415 National Express service 210 to Dudley (Bus Station), arriving there at 1705 on Saturday afternoon.

In those famous words uttered by Michelle in "Allo "Allo....

"Listen, I shall say this only once", there are times when to keep matters "interesting", such methodology keeps the quiz moving....:!:

We leave Rugeley TV on the 1839 WMT service which is heading to London, but we alight at Nuneaton at 1910, Saturday evening.

Edit - too early on a Tuesday morning - should have waited a bit longer...

Walsall to Rugeley Trent Valley and thence to Nuneaton are two separate services so the move is valid.

Yes, but as Paul states, we depart Rugeley Trent Valley as we're arriving!

In fact, I think that Euston train departs at 18:42, so still is only a 3 minute connection thus foul of the minimum connection time.

That indeed may be the case, however I was only offering guidance on the previous iteration of Paul’s post which stated (and since changed):

I think the previous posting used the same train as arrived in the posting before it.

So where does the quiz now stand as regards the validity of the recent postings?

Mea culpa on my part.

I've struck it out - so we're due to arrive at Rugeley Trent Valley at 1839 on Saturday - cannot leave before 1844.

We'll wait at Golders Green until 2220, when we board the National Express A11 to Northampton arriving at the Bus Station at 0020 Monday morning.

Note - this is one of the NX services which serves the Bus Station, not the coach stop on Victoria Street.

If I've worked it out properly it shouldn't make a difference to any future moves as the two seperate bus stations/interchange and the railway station all appear to be within half a mile of each other anyway :)

Plodding along, we next board the 0125 National Express service 707 to Heathrow Central (Bus Station), arriving there at 0345 on Monday morning.

Question - would a flight to the Isle of Man be acceptable ? If yes then.....

here's an opportunity - we'll board the 0805 Easyjet flight EZY839 to Douglas Isle of Man arriving at 0925 on Monday morning.

Rules

  • The use of cars, taxis, planes or helicopters is not allowed.
  • The playing area includes only mainland Great Britain. This includes any landmass connected to Great Britain by bridge or tunnel (excluding the Channel Tunnel). Domestic ferry services to outlying islands, such as the Isle of Wight and the Scottish Islands are also acceptable (with due regards to the note in the etiquette post below).
The above extract from the rules of this quiz should answer the recent query raised.

Sadly not, it has come up before in conversation but I don't see why internal flights i.e. Southampton to Newcastle or Bristol to Edinburgh couldn't be permitted!

We next board the 0705 National Express service 025 to Brighton (Pool Valley Coach Station), arriving there at 0805 on Monday morning.

Okay - as a quick hop to the Isle of Man isn't an option, we'll take the 0740 National Express 201 to Swansea Bus station arriving at 1350 on Monday afternoon.

Edit - beaten to it !

The rules section about embargoed modes of transport on this quiz that I quoted a few postings ago could not be clearer in its wording.
I'm aware of that, however I am still entitled of the opinion that domestic flights across the UK could be permitted in theory, as long as it remained within the boundary of Great Britain.
