We walk for 2 minutes to Heald Green Hotel (stop B) where we await the 1507 D&G Bus service 130. We alight at Macclesfield General Hospital at 1605 on Thursday.

So please to finally be able to get us on this route, the sad reminas of the once great Macclesfield - Manchester route...

Must confess I had a bit of a job trying to find this stop, but I think it's because there is a slight deviation to the route in the evenings!

Anyway, we're a little limited for options here so from the Sandy Lane stop opposite we can only board the 1917 D&G Bus service 88 to Wilmslow (Railway Station), arriving there at 1928 on Thursday evening.

The last bus of the day left here nearly three hours ago, unbelievably, so we board 2K72, Transport for Wales' 2049 departure.
We alight at Crewe at 2122 on Thursday.

We walk 0.5 mile (10 mins) to Sarn station (ignoring Google Maps, which says the entrance is on the east side of the railway). There we await Transport for Wales' 1431 service (2G60), from which we alight at Severn Tunnel Junction at 1534 on Friday.

Severn Tunnel Junction is really not the most welcoming of stations in the arse end of nowhere, so we continue on the 1634 Transport for Wales service 2G62 to Cheltenham, arriving there at 1724 on Friday afternoon.

* Which is literally when I'm leaving Cheltenham on my way home from work!

Wondered why on earth that has such a long journey time to Plymouth, then realised it's because it has a 37 minute layover at Temple Meads!

Anyway, we could use the local buses in Plymouth but instead go for the 2125 Great Western Railway service 2M77 to Weston-super-Mare, arriving there at 2337 on Friday evening.

Going back to Severn Tunnel Junction, I have a colleague for whom that is his local station, and he can walk there!!!

We've covered the full length of both routes that serve Chudleigh on a Saturday, so decide to head back to Exeter. We therefore walk the 0.3 mile (6 mins) to Memorial bus stop on Fore St and board Stagecoach South West service 39 at 1131. We alight at Exeter Bus Station (stand 2) at 1202 on Saturday.

We depart at 1802 on Stagecoach South West service 9A, and alight at Seaton (Tramway Station) at 1851 on Saturday, not far from the abode of a well-known public transport blogger...

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
Being January, no timetable trams are running, so we next board the 1922 Stagecoach South West service 9A to Clyst St Mary (Westpoint on the A3052) that arrives there at 2014 on Saturday evening and make our way to the Half-Moon Inn where we have an evening meal table for four booked.
