Leaving the tram terminus, we take the four minute walk to Clifton Drive North and board the 1554 Blackpool Transport service 11 to Lytham (Warton Street) that arrives there at 1618 on Sunday afternoon.

There are two stops on Warton Street: St John's Street and Grosvenor Street, but none of these appear to be served by the 11? At 1618 there is a bus at Lytham Hospital. Is this where we are?

My 88 year-old sister-in-law, now resident in a nursing home on the Fylde coastal area, has been in Lytham Hospital a number of times and we usually refer to the bus stop for that hospital as "Warton Street". It was that hospital stop to which my posting refers to. (She has also had the post-treatment remedial care in Clifton Hospital opposite the King Edward VII school, but we normally take the number 7 that carries on to Saltcotes after Lytham when visiting there.)

Is that not a bit early to retire for the night, and then a bit late in the morning to start, or is there nothing else

I can find plenty of services still running that evening including both bus and train services, it may be useful time to remind the rules around overnight stops

You shouldn't wait for more than two hours after the first available service (to any destination) has left, after allowing for the minimum interchange time.
  • Night services in the UK can be quite limited, so when the previous move arrives at its destination after 2300 you are allowed to wait until 0500 the next day if you wish.

Well seeing as A Challenge queried the early finish on Sunday evening in Morecambe, and seeing as kevconnor conveniently quoted the rules regarding the overnight relaxation rule, let's go on the basis that it was indeed too early to finish.

In this case, at 2053 having arrived off the 40 from Garstang, let's walk across the road in Morecambe to the railway station and board the 2116 Northern service 2C45 to Ulverston, arriving there at 2200 on Sunday evening.
