I really do struggle with attempting to make postings in the Greater Bristol area, not having the local knowledge of this area, and the last one that I made was because the quiz had not moved along from 20th to the 22nd January.

Can any other contestant (obviously not DanTrainMan185 who made this last posting), please do what they can to move us from this seeming impasse, as my lack of area knowledge means that I just cannot fathom out an onwards route from where the last posting left us.

There is no bus stop in Princes Street Bristol - Traveline SW sends me on long walks from there when I try to plan a journey. Puzzled me for ages.

The stop appears to be Prince Street . No s.

So we take the next 76 at 0524 and travel to Cribbs Causeway bus station arriving at 0601 Saturday morning where there should be a wide selection of routes

Many thanks...you seem to have experienced exactly the same problems that I did when using Princes Street as a base to start an onward journey, but all you can go on is what is actually said in the previous posting to where you intend to make a follow-on posting..

So we take the next 76 at 0524 and travel to Cribbs Causeway bus station arriving at 0601 Saturday morning where there should be a wide selection of routes

We see there is an hour-long omnibus service departing quite soon, so we next board the 0625 First in Bristol, Bath and the West service 2 to Stockwood (The Coots) that arrives there at 0724 on Saturday morning.

We then take the 0740 First in BBSW service 2 to Bristol Temple Meads station, arriving at 0803 Saturday morning

Apologies everyone, that stop in question indeed was Prince Street but my autocorrect on my phone changed into to Princes Street. However, with all due respect, the variation of one letter should not have caused that much of a problem....

Furthermore, that stop was the one before Broad Quay, which is the gateway in and out of Bristol!

We then board the 0818 First in Bristol, Bath and the West service 38 to Newton St Loe (The Globe), arriving there at 0900 on Saturday morning.

That service actually departs at 1139. If it was 1130 it would fall foul of the minimum connection time.

We board the 1248 CrossCountry service 1M49 to Manchester Piccadilly, arriving there at 1659 on Saturday afternoon.

I know what the rules say about the two hour requirements, but at this time of night, what do you do where there is one final Saturday late bus that departs slightly over that time period. The journey that I have found is shown to be as follows:-

2312 Stagecoach in Cumbria service 555 to Kendal (Blackhall Road) that arrives there at 0018 on Sunday morning

Can I ask for a rules validity ruling on this posting, please.

I would interpret the rule as saying that once you have waited two hours with no services you must take the next departure wherever it's going. So your move is valid

That appears to be it for the rest of the day now, so we call it a night before boarding the 0900 Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire service 555 to Lancaster (Bus Station), arriving there at 1012 on Sunday morning.

Perhaps so; however, there have been times where some contestants have put completely the wrong name, yet we have still been able to work it out. All I am saying on the matter, of which it is the final time I mention it on this conversation, is that it shouldn't have been that much of a problem, despite my error which I admit, to have found the correct road. Google Maps lists every single stop on a route as well as the times and it only required matching the times that I listed (0454), so the answer was there. This is what I do if ever an error occurs. But as I say, that is all I have to say and I am saying no more about the matter I do hope Google Maps is of use to you Paul as it's really good!

We next take a journey southwards down the quieter coastal route by boarding the 1025 Stagecoach in Lancashire service 89 to Pilling (opposite the Golden Ball PH) that arrives there at 1059 on Sunday morning.

From Rossall Beach, (Rossall Broadway, by The West Gate) it is a short walk over to Rossall Beach Blackpool Tramway Stop where we can take the 14:13 Service Number 1 towards Starr Gate alighting at Blackpool Promenade, Tower Tram Stop at 14:43 on Sunday afternoon.

Going on this assumption, I *think*, pending I'm close and got the correct timings, we can board the 1624 Stagecoach in Lancashire service 61 to Kirkham & Wesham Railway Station, arriving there at 1643 on Sunday afternoon.

That news about Larches being difficult to locate will come as something of a shock to the local residents. Larches is indeed a very old settlement and currently has a mixture of both private and social housing and is served by orbital circular services from Preston bus station in addition to the one that took us there.

Historically speaking, Larches was once part of the ancient Hundred of Amounderness.
