Whilst we wait for the next bus, we have an altercation with some local chavs. No serious injuries, but we feel we should head off to A&E anyway, so we walk down to Shoreditch High Street and catch the 01:17 N205 Stagecoach London service, which we take to The Royal London Hospital/Whitechapel Station. We arrive at 01:28 on Friday morning.

Continuing our night travels across the capital, we then board the 0137 Tower Transit service 25 to Ilford (High Road/Hainault Street), arriving there at 0213 in the early hours of Friday morning.

Just enough time to switch onto the Stagecoach London N86 service at 02:19, which takes us to Stratford Bus Station at 02:37 on Friday morning.

Enough of this bus malarkey, time for some trains!

Being on the Thameslink line, Cricklewood already has a decent service up and running, even at this ungodly hour. We decide to avoid the impending crush of London's morning peak, and walk over to the station in time to board the next Northbound departure - the 05:59 service which takes us to St Albans at 06:22 on Friday morning.

The station's starting to look busy even at this time of the morning, so it's back onto the buses.

Outside St Albans railway station we board Uno service 601 at 0655 to Welwyn Garden City Bus Station, arriving 0728 Friday morning.

We transfer to Metrobus 400 service at 15:03, which we take to the nearest airport. We arrive at Gatwick Airport South Terminal at 15:59 on Friday afternoon.

We have grown fond of this operator, and stick with them for our next move. We take a Metrobus 10 service at 16:42, and alight at Crawley Bus Station at 16:49 on Friday afternoon.

Being my local operator, of course I am fond of them. I will continue our Crawley travelogue by next boarding the 1658 Metrobus service 2 to Ifield West, Yewlands Walk arriving at 1716 on Friday afternoon.

We have an opportunity here to board a bus service that doesn't run very frequently. Well, that's not entirely true, as the Metrobus 200 service does operate every 30 minutes. But a few services a day run as the number 300, and start from this stop. It's not long until we can board the only such service this evening, which arrives at 17:36. It heads back toward Gatwick Airport and, having already experienced the delights of the South Terminal, we choose to stay onboard until the North Terminal, where the bus terminates at 18:03 on Friday evening.

Usually does 291s then a school run does CY135 before doing the afternoon 300s, the first morning journey is formed of a bus that goes onto the 4/5 and the second comes off the 2 school journey to Hazelwick then onto the 300 then 200 to Horsham.

We next board the 1813 Metrobus Fastway service 100 to Northgate Parade, arriving at 1829 on Friday evening.

To avoid simply hopping back onto another 100 bus, we take seven minutes to walk past the Police Station and onto Northgate avenue, where a much wider selection of buses is available.

The 424 is a new bus for us, operated by who else but Metrobus. So we wait for the next service to arrive at 18:47. We take the bus for a short hop to Three Bridges Railway Station, arriving at 18:53 on Friday evening.

The 424 is actually operated by Southdown PSV, anyway I continue from Three Bridges by saying we board the 1906 Metrobus service 5, alighting at County Oak, Retail Park at 1923 on Friday evening.

Walking around the corner to Langley Green Hospital, we then board the 1956 Metrobus service 200 to Gatwick Airport (South Terminal), arriving there at 2005 on Friday evening.

We've been to the airport a few times today, and are obviously keen to take to the skies. Alas, not in this thread. So we end our tour of Metrobusland by entering the airport's railway station in time to catch a 442 before they head off for a new life as replacements for the Caledonian Sleeper (or whatever the latest thread says ).

Anyway, it's 1A15, the 20:15 Gatwick Express service that takes us to London Victoria at 20:44 on Friday Evening.

Just to really miff everyone off, we take the walk to Victoria Coach Station, where we board the 2200 Megabus service M7 to Bristol (UWE North Entrance), arriving there at 0015 in the early hours of Saturday morning. This move is perfectly valid as by the time we get to the coach station it is probably the next available service anyway. Please be aware this is the north entrance, and not the south.

Under Filton Road we go, on a short eight minute walk to Sainsbury's. We have plenty of time to spare, having just missed a bus. We await the next bus, which is over an hour away. It pulls in. We greet the driver by name. He knows us well, and clearly assumes we are homeless. The 01:24 First Bristol, Bath and Beyond 73 service takes us to Cribbs Causeway Bus Station, arriving at 01:53 on Saturday morning.

We then board the 0216 First in BB&W service 75 to Filton (Northville Road) (the stop for my boyfriend's house yay), arriving there at 0230 in the early hours of Saturday morning.

We take the eight minutes walk to the bus stop on Filton Road where we next board the 0301 First in Bristol, Bath and the West service 76 to Hartcliffe (Symes Avenue) that arrives there at 0338 on Saturday morning.

Hartcliffe isn't one of Bristol's most exotic areas, and unfortunately we have just missed the returning 76, so we have a little bit of a wait before we board the 0434 First in Bristol, Bath and The West service 76 to Bristol (Princes Street), arriving there at 0454 on Saturday morning.
