I wanted to go down this way, and thought I'd make a joke about the Sleeper's issues which seem to be highly discussed on this very forum.

The 2002 arrival at the Sealife Centre appeared to be the last bus of the day, so we call it a night before boarding the 0822 Oban and District Buses service 405 to Obam (Bus Depot), arriving there at 0856 on whatever day we're on (I'm not going back to the previous page otherwise I'll lose my post).

The service connects nicely onto the West Coast Motors service to explore the Isle of Mull. At 10:52, we board West Coast Motors number 95 bus service towards Balamory. I mean Tobermory.

We arrive at Tobermory Ledaig Car Park at 11:37 on Tuesday morning.

We are given some free time to explore this colourful village, before the next bus at 15:30. (I assume that this is a school day). We wonder if Edie McCredie will be driving our bus, but sadly not. The West Coast Motors 494 bus leaves from the Post Office (just a short walk from the ferry port), and we ride it to its terminus at Calgary, Isle of Mull. We arrive at 16:20 on Tuesday afternoon.

Can I intercede here and mention to all concerned about the recent visit to the Isle of Mull by ferry, as I am in receipt of a PM from a forum member who quotes the rule shown above and states states that whilst the Isle of Skye, now connected by a bridge, is valid for use on this quiz, the Isle of Mull most certainly remains a true unconnected island.

I most certainly do not wish that any related postings be struck through, but for the current matter to serve as a reminder that the quiz rules be read and adhered to in future.

So does that mean we could use the 51A service from Kyle to Armadale for example, would the ferry across to Mallaig be allowed to continue? The classic Skye Circular that I did this year.

So in other words Paul are you saying that we must go back to Oban when we caught the West Coast Motor service?

If those contestants who gravitated from the original quiz to this new quiz remember, there was a discussion period in which many queries were discussed with the forum quizmasters. The matter of the link to offshore islands was defined as is currently shown where the fixed link is shown.

Ferries that connect mainland settlements to each other, such as the chain link ferry between Cowes and East Cowes, are perfectly acceptable to be used on the quiz.

Thankfully, Connel Ferry no longer has an actual ferry to cause us further confusion! We're a few minutes walk from the post office, where we can catch another West Coast Motors service, this time the number 5 bus, which arrives at 13:40. We take it to its terminus at Barcaldine, arriving at 14:01 on Wednesday afternoon.

So out with the sleeping bags it is until the next service, which arrives at 08:09 the next morning. I'm assuming it's another school day, and the bus takes us to Oban Railway Station, arriving there at 08:50 on Thursday morning.

Just to think that not so very long ago you could have been suffering from Lybster Omnibus Syndrome when we were in the Wick/Thurso area....

Noting the 10 minute minimum connection time at this station, we board the 1209 Abellio ScotRail service to Inverness that arrives there at 1523 on Thursday afternoon.
