Taking the short walk further up Military Road to the bus stop opposite St Thomas' School, we then board the 2107 Stagecoach in East Kent The Triangle service 6A to Herne Bay (Railway Station), arriving there at 2141 on Thursday evening.

We take an evening stroll down Herne Bay Road and Sturry Hill exactly 0.5 miles to Sturry railway station and sit and wait for to board...

...2R74 the 2300 Southeastern trains service to Ramsgate where we alight at 2318 on Thursday night

I was going to call it a day, but then I noticed there was one or two services onto Margate, so we then board the 2328 Southeastern service 1J70 to Margate, arriving there at 2339 on Thursday evening.

Time to keep going into Friday.

We leave on 1F70 at 0002 a Southeastern service and dump ourselves at Dumpton Park at 0011 on Friday morning

Don't know the area, am I right that that train joins up with the Dover Priory service at Faversham?

Back at Bromley South we step aboard the 0616 2B03 Thameslink service to the delightfully named Bat and Ball where we arrive at 0641 on Friday morning

We want to visit the new concourse at New Street so we step onto 2L30 London Midland 1059 service, which we take to Birmingham New Street arriving at 1102 on Saturday morning

We wish to see the famous Cathedral close up.

Thus we go out of the station and to the adjacent bus stop and await the Stanley Travel number 40, the 1450 to Durham, Cathedral where we alight at 1459 on Saturday afternoon

It's 0.3 mile, 7 minute walk downhill and across Kingsgate Bridge to the St Oswald's Church bus stop.

Here we board Arriva North East service X12 at 1525, arriving at Middlesborough Bus Station, arriving 1630 Saturday afternoon.
