It's less than a ¼ mile walk to Hattersley railway station, where we board the 1347 Northern train to Manchester Piccadilly arriving at 1409 Thursday afternoon.
The only option at this time of night seems to be a fourth consecutive trip on TrentBarton's Swift along the same stretch of the A52 towards Derby so we decide to call it a night in Ashbourne.
That's certainly true, but I had the impression no-one wanted to go back to Derby nased on previous couple of moves. An observation only - but that limits us to starting in Ashbourne next day. Had we returned to Derby, there might have been (haven't checked) further travel opportunities in the early hours and at least a far wider choice in the morning.
