5 minutes later we double back on the 1112 Northern service to Earlestown, arriving 1126 on Monday morning.
We should be able to walk to Birmingham New Street. Not many (if any) buses leaving at this time of night, and not many trains either. But some late night Virgin services are still coming up from Euston, and we make it to New Street in plenty of time to catch the 00:36 Virgin Trains service 9G48 to Wolverhampton, which arrives there at 01:02 on Tuesday morning.
We then take the National Express West Midlands service 74 departing at 2322 and ride to the terminus of Birmingham, Colmore Circus (stop SH5) where we arrive at 0019 on Tuesday morning.
As we have continued for a few moves and the 0637 from Wolverhampton to Oxenholme actually starts from New Street at 0616 why not consider that move valid and continue from where we are?
Hold on, hold on. My move was PERFECTLY VALID.
It's only 0.5 miles to New Street, walking. Google Maps for some reason takes you the long way around, but there is a walking route to an entrance just 10 minutes away and at 0.5 miles, I deem it to be perfectly valid.
Source 1 - evidence of a route taking 0.5 miles and 10 minutes to New Street.
Source 2 - Google Streetview demonstrating station entrance at end of said route.
Because we're just making up our own scenarios and in the second largest city in the country I'm not convinced there is not a single mode of transport between 0019 and 0616.

We then take the Stagecoach Cumbria service 555 departing at 1013 and alight at Keswick Bus Station where we arrive at 1042 on Tuesday morning.

In that case, let's continue from here:
We then board the 1426 Stagecoach Cumbria service 555 all the way to Lancaster (Bus Station), arriving there at 1712 on Tuesday afternoon.
I was just about to post a similar message. There are several bus services from Keswick all over the Lake District before 1426.
Just from Bus Stop 1 there are services to Carlisle, Cockermouth, Penrith and Workington before the Lancaster service.
I was under the impression that the following rule applied:
You shouldn't wait for more than two hours after the first available service (to any destination) has left, after allowing for the minimum interchange time.
