This being the only station where both rail systems share the same platforms, we board the 2300 Nexus Metro service to Newcastle Airport metro station that arrives there at 2353 on Thursday evening.

We board the 2359 TW Metro Green Line service, arriving at the Regent Centre at 0010 on Friday morning.

There's not much happening, so we nip into the Asda across the road and try to shelter for the night. It's not long until we're kicked out, and forced to make do with cardboard boxes.

Anyway, in the morning the interchange wakes up and there's plenty of options for us. We choose to get on the Arriva North East 553 service at 06:33, riding it just as far as Freeman Hospital, where we arrive at 06:46 on Friday morning.

We then take the Arriva North East service 18 departing at 0712 to its terminus of Wallsend Bus Station where we arrive at 0747 on Friday morning.

Then we leave the city behind on Go North East's number 17 service to Cramlington, which leaves at 08:14 and takes us to Cramlington (Dudley Lane Shops), where we arrive at 09:03 on Friday Morning.

We then board the 0937 Arriva North East service 52 to Benton (Four Lane Ends Metro Station), arriving there at 1005 on Friday morning.

We cross to the other side of the station and board the next Yellow Line train. It arrives at 1039, and we alight at 1203 outside Newcastle Central - the date being Friday, June 19.

Just time to grab lunch on the go before we board the 12:22 2N29 Northern Trains service to Carlisle, where we alight at 13:52 on Wednesday afternoon.

We hang around at MK before heading south on the 1813 Southern service to South Croydon. However, we bail early, alighting at Clapham Jcn. at 1931 on Friday evening.

So onto Platform 13 where we catch the 19:38 Southern service. We intend to travel to Southampton, but we get in the wrong carriage and end up in the portion for Bognor Regis instead, where we arrive at 21:18 on Friday evening.

I am sure that the forum quizmasters would fully announce any new quiz and not use "a period of silence" to use as a substitute method.....

If the International version is launched, it will be as a totally separate quiz to this one, I feel, with its own rules and protocol.

No it's not. Well, yes it is. But there's an exception for changing from Southern to Southern of just a 5 minute connection time, at least according to BR Times. It's perfectly valid.

Lets use a bit of common sense ey? Changing Southern to Southern at Clapham Junction in 7 minutes (31 to 38) is realistic, you'd be able to do it in real life. We play on from:

One advantage of being here is that we see the famous "Offended of Orpington" who is well known for his letters to the better class of broadsheets waiting on the platform and after an exchange of views on how matters "are not what they used to be in our joint youth", we next board the 0851 service to Hither Green that arrives there at 0906 on Saturday morning.
