Still plenty of late night bussing going on around here it seems, even on a Sunday. So we board the First Bristol number 76 service at 23:21 and ride it to its terminus at Hengrove Depot at 00:10 on Monday morning.

We continue on the next northbound bus, which is the 0025 First Bristol service 76 to Bristol (Broad Quay), arriving there at 0055 in the early hours of Monday morning.

We then find out there are only two bus lines running at this hour, yet we're stuck for another journey back on Bus 76, departing at 01:20 back South, and this time to Bridge Campus where we're arriving at 01:43, still the same old early Monday morning.

We take a break from the 76 and try its mate the First Bristol service 75 departing at 0200 and ride to Cribbs Causeway, Bus Station. where we arrive at 0259 on Monday morning.

I didn't realise that Bristol had all-night bus services until this session on our journey.

The 2, 38, 43, 75 and the 76 all run 24 hours a day.

No point going back on the 75/76, so we board the 0522 First Bristol service 40 to Lawrence Weston (Long Cross), arriving there at 0540 on Monday morning.

I have no time to find out what bus to take now, but from First in Bristol their website, only bus 75 and 76 run 24 hours a day on all days. The other lines run 24 hours Monday-Saturday nights, so sadly not the night we're there.

We pop into Morrisons for supplies, then back to the same stop to board the First Bristol service towards Thornbury, which arrives on time at 10:35. We take it to Bristol Parkway station, where we alight at 10:55 on Monday Morning.

We then decide we've seen enough of the Bristol area, and head into the station to just see a train to London leaving. So we hop on the next train which departs at 11:08 and brings us to the other side of the Severn, and at 11:52, we alight at Cardiff Central on Monday morning.

We then take the 1206 Arriva Trains Wales Treherbert service and alight at Tonypandy where we arrive at 1250 on Monday afternoon.

We decide to continue to Treherbert on the next ATW departure at 1321, arriving at 1343 Monday afternoon

We then board 1F50, the 1417 Arriva Trains Wales service to Radyr, arriving there at 1516 on Monday afternoon.

Then we go back the way we came, onto 2A38, the 15:25 Arriva Trains Wales service to Aberdare. We alight Mountain Ash at 15:57 on Monday afternoon.

Mountain Ash has nothing to offer, so we board 2Y67, the 1604 Arriva Trains Wales service to Eastbrook, arriving there at 1705 on Monday afternoon.

We decide we need a trip to the seaside so we take the 1720 Arriva Trains Wales departure all the way to Barry Island where we arrive at 1738 on Monday evening.

Mountain Ash has nothing to offer, so we board 2Y67, the 1604 Arriva Trains Wales service to Eastbrook, arriving there at 1705 on Monday afternoon.

You missed the bus stops right outside the station it seems! Nevertheless, it's a perfectly sound move, so to continue from Barry Island...

We let the train make its way back to the Welsh capital, and decide to rid on our old friend the Cardiff Bus number 95, which arrives at 18:05. We ride it the full length of the journey to Cardiff Central Bus Station, arriving at 18:57 on Monday evening.

We then cross under Cardiff Central station, to catch the 1921 New Adventure T9 service to Cardiff International Airport. We arrive just outside the airport at 1950 on Monday afternoon.

I feel like going to Belfast... anyone want to take the hint and board a plane?

We alight from the bus and find a familiar figure standing at the front door of the airport... Inspector Sidorczuk from Interpol. We're not really up for having another confrontation at this time, so we decide to sample the delights of Belfast some other day, and just watch the planes for now. Maybe some day, not too far away, that'll be us taking to the skies...

Anyway, we get on the next bus, which is unfortunately another New Adventure T9 service leaving at 20:00. We alight at Cardiff Bay, at 20:30 on Monday evening.
