We see the 66 bus (operated by Arriva Southend on behalf of TfL) drive off just as we leave the station. We wait for the next one, pulling in at 07:35 staying with it until it reaches its terminus at Romford Station later that Thursday morning at 08:13.

Although the weather in London was quite beautiful, it's rather choppy down here in Portsmouth and the ferries are cancelled. So we wander over to "The Hard" interchange (interesting name...) and, at 13:45, we board a First Hampshire number 14 service to Portsmouth College where we arrive at 14:14 on a cold, wet Thursday afternoon.

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
Rules
  • You may not re-board the service just used in the previous post
  • You should use the first available service to reach your destination after allowing for the minimum interchange time.
  • You shouldn't wait for more than two hours after the first available service (to any destination) has left, after allowing for the minimum interchange time.
  • You may walk up to about half a mile when changing modes to a stop in the vicinity, if you wish.
  • The use of cars, taxis, planes or helicopters is not allowed.
  • The playing area includes only mainland Great Britain. This includes any landmass connected to Great Britain by bridge or tunnel (excluding the Channel Tunnel).

This is now an opportune time to ask all contestants to note the emboldened section of the rules of this quiz, as there appears to be a little confusion on that very matter.
