After a walk to Preston Bus Station, we catch the Stagecoach in Lancashire service 113 bus at 08.10 to Wigan Bus Station arriving at 09.38 on Thursday morning.

We do not forget the 15 minute minimum connection time at this large station and board the 1745 FGW service to Swansea that arrives there at 2047 on Thursday evening.

We then board 1E55, the 2341 Arriva Trains Wales service to Carmarthen, arriving there at 0013 in the early hours of Friday morning.

We seemed to have lost a day between post #4089 and #4090 , which reverted to the correct day in post #4091. So in fact we are now at Whitland station at 0117 early Friday morning.
With barely time for a quick nap on the platform we board ATW's 1B39 at 0224 to Swansea arriving at 0343 Friday morning.
Note as per quiz rules, this move uses the normally timetabled service and ignores variations in 1B39's timings and destination for 15/5 and 22/5 which are shown as a "VAR" by RTT on these particular dates.

According to official records, there is a minimum 5 minute connection time at Bache railway station, which will not allow the journey above with only 4 minutes between arrival and departure to be made, unfortunately.

We alight and take a stroll to the nearby Ashton Park. After photographing it, we head back to the station and board the 2101 Merseyrail service to Bidston, arriving at 2116 the same day.

After heading to the hotel and having breakfast, we return to the station and board the 0816 ATW service to Wrexham General. We arrive at 0827 on Saturday morning.
