That last bus of the day leaves us to enjoy an evening in a quiet part of Cumbria and having booked accommodation for the night, we partake of an sumptuous feast of Cumbrian cooking at its finest for our evening meal. Having arranged an early morning alarm call, we are sustained by a full Cumbrian breakfast, all locally sourced, for the day and we then make our way to the bus stop on New Road outside Ivy Cottages and board the 0728 Grand Prix service 563 to Penrith bus station that arrives there at 0828 on Tuesday morning.

We then take Reay's service 106 at 0910 and travel over Shap to Kendal Blackhall Road, arriving at 1023 Tuesday morning

Paul, according to the Traveline North West site, the 1042 from Kendal Bus Station exists, but the only stop with a timing point of 1204 is Keswick (Dales Bottom). There is no Naddle listed. Is this what you meant? If not, can you attach a screenshot of the source you used please.

We have had a similar query raised on the now-defunct version of this quiz in the Cumbria area.

Go on the Traveline Cumbria site and enter a bus journey departing Kendal bus station at 1042 that goes as far as Keswick.

You will be given an entry in a lined box what shows the 555 Stagecoach in Cumbria bus service on that route, showing the departure and arrival times.

At the bottom right hand corner of the lined box, there is a button marked "ALL STOPS". If you click on it, a long list of stops and arrival times appears.

Rather than no mention of stops in Naddle, there are in fact TWO of them in that settlement:-
Naddle, entrance to Southwaite Farm.........1202
Naddle, outside Causeway Foot..................1204

Another matter to consider is that if you intend to use a Traveline facility, always choose the one that is geographically more correct.

Kendal, being in Cumbria, should be referred to in the Traveline Cumbria website rather than the Traveline North West website,which if you look at that geographical area covered by that website, does NOT include Cumbria.

Having consulted an OS map I believe the two stops to be the same - just different names. Possibly one stop apart. Not helped by the traveline site being one of the more user unfriendly ones and Stagecoach's own timetable showing virtually no stops

Anyway at 1231 we take the 555 back again and get off at Thirlmere Car Park at 1239 Tuesday afternoon

Another matter to consider is that if you intend to use a Traveline facility, always choose the one that is geographically more correct.

Kendal, being in Cumbria, should be referred to in the Traveline Cumbria website rather than the Traveline North West website,which if you look at that geographical area covered by that website, does NOT include Cumbria.

I find that most unusual as Cumbria is in the north west.

I do tend to use the site that is geographically more accurate (well, most of the time!).

And, the 555 still had EXACTLY the same stops on the TNW site as opposed to the Cumbria site anyway, with it showing a 1042 departure from Kendal, yet the only stops not included on there were the two in Naddle.

Anyway, it's not an issue anymore, as further moves have been made. Thank you for quoting the timings, nonetheless

I find that most unusual as Cumbria is in the north west. I do tend to use the site that is geographically more accurate (well, most of the time!).

As a help to you, the areas that are covered by the Traveline North West website, in alphabetical order, are:-

Blackpool
Cheshire East
Cheshire West and Chester
Greater Manchester
Halton
Lancashire
Merseyside
Warrington

As you can see, Cumbria is NOT covered by this particular website, but is covered by the Traveline North East and Cumbria website instead.
