I was thinking that it might be the minimum official connection time of 8 minutes at Preston, but that is not the case here.

Sleeper stops at Preston for crew change but not for passenger purpose.

It is to do with MCT - which yes is 8 minutes so apparently legal

But the published arrival of the sleeper at Preston - to set down only - is 0436. The 0431 is the WTT

Sometime way back a similar incident happened - can't remember the outcome. I think it was glossed over and play continued normally
